Sadly, I'm (CatholicCougs14) coming on here to announce that Lee Edwardsen, better known as footsoldier on these boards has passed away.
Lee could throw bricks and trash talk like no one else. I remember being a freshman at Catholic wondering who this dude was.
He was simply incredible on these boards.
No one loved his Catholic Cougars like Lee did.
For all his trash talking, he was easily one of the best people I have ever met. I remember meeting him as a junior and was awe struck.
Lee would give you the shirt off his back and many on this board who knew him would agree that Lee Edwardsen was a great man.
Please keep his wife, daughters, family and friends in your prayers.
Here's to you Lee, you got the best seat to watch the RED PAIN now.

When I finally put a face with a name, I was able to tolerate his barbs. I met Lee in Maiden the first time at a Mett and Greet that probably had 20+ members of this site gathered to enjoy lunch. He was a smart and witty guy and like Shelby Lion posted he hated squirrels. The last time I chatted with Foot Soldier he told me of his health issues. It was sad as he hadn't been retired long. Rest in peace Lee and may God grant your family and friends comfort and peace.

Lee and I were close friends. My best memory with him (which was many) was when one of the players for CC's mother was in the hospital and was discharged the day of the playoff game at AL Brown. He asked me if I would get it cleared to have his parents come in the back gate because the players mom had injured her leg and couldn't walk very far. Her son was a Senior that year and if they lost she would hate to miss his last game. After getting it cleared they came in the back gate to watch the game. RIP Lee!

Back in 2004 we played SWO at Duke and Catholic had Nick Starcevic at fb and played Western in the 3a title game... A buddy and me were riding down I40 somewhere around the other side of Greensboro and I was telling him Foot wanted to meet us there ( I had never even seem him at this time) we pass an old ford ranger truck and I looked over and this dude had an airplane bottle turning it up riding down the interstate.... I told me buddy "Wouldnt it be funny if that was footsoldier" when we got there sure enough it was him..... We got killed in the title game and we stayed and hung out with Lee during their game. He loved his cougars.... Man he made me laugh.... He could get under the skin as good as anyone on these boards but he had an absolute heart of gold.... His style and Rulz style are alike... they can talk it with the best of them, but their hearts are for people... that is why I think/thought the world of both....... Gonna miss Lee......

How many do you think he put down that afternoon in Winston-Salem when SeaDog had charge of him? The day Lincolnton had to look everyone dead in the eye to find us.

I hate to hear about Lee. I talked to him a couple of times a year and I got a Christmas card from him every year. I had texted him a couple of times last year and the start of this year and heard nothing from him. I still remember the time Tuscola went into Lenoir and beat the "Breakfast Table Makers", his words, and we hung out together during and after the game. I think Shelby Lion was there with us. That was the good old days of NC Preps when we wore each other out and instead of wanting to fight, we got dinner before the next game together. He was a legend on the board and was one of the most well read and smartest guys you could ever meet. See you on the other side friend.

I'm more of a lurker on the board. But that was a simple, yet wonderfully expressed tribute. TY. Godspeed, Mr. Edwardsen.
