. . . . combined have a 10 - 1 record, I believe. Any SR fans in the know believe this overall record is legit? Or is this record really not indicative of the talent on the field?
St.Rita lower levels are combined 10-2
sophs 5-1 lost to montini by 1 point
fresh 5-1 lost to mc
4 sophs on varsity 3 see playing time
1 fresh kicks on varsity
If this is the case, why all the gloom and doom from people in the Rita camp? It seems that the lower level are in pretty good shape.
No real obvious impact players on either team. I think there is more potential on the frosh team than the soph team. Though obviously that could change if kids grow. SR has historically low numbers on soph team. And frosh team has lowest numbers since transition era from 63rd street.
I think SR has underrated coaching on its lower levels. Those guys do a very nice job.
I'm not overly optimistic, but I'm obviously cheering like hell for a turnaround. This years frosh class was encouraging, but they desperately need a great incoming class.
I have always thought the same thing. Why do CCL guys care so much about lower levels?
For all of you ready to pronounce St Rita dead . . .

Rita can make a statement this weekend with wins vs the Loyola Sophs (who I think are also tied for division lead) and Loyola Frosh (who I think only loss is to Rice?)
Cause this is all I have in my life
I don't think any of us here are writing off Rita... granted not making football playoffs can affect some recruiting efforts but overall it will make the school work even harder to overcome this season's shortcoming. The question will be whether Rita makes a change in the program?
Ignazio,
While I think St Rita is far from dead, I'm not sure what this link proves? Adding Ausie football players to the mix could certainly be interesting!
Dont stop there, get something going with Ghana or Nigeria...Ignazio,

I've seen two SR soph games. I am not particularly optimistic about next year, as their O-line and D-Line are going to be undersized and lack talent -- both of which could change since boys can still grow at 16/17. QB position will also be a problem unless someone makes incredible improvement. SR has a nice soph RB on the varsity and a nice soph DB on the varsity. They have a LB on the soph team who is good enough to play major minutes on the varsity this year. But overall, they will be an underdog in every CCL Blue game next year as well.
