Not sure how many of you saw this today, but Rivals and Under Armour have come to an exclusive deal that will allow Rivals and Under Armour to jointly put on camps together, and also jointly choose the players for the Under Armour All-American game.

I not really sure what the repercussions of this will be yet, but we all know that All-Star football games have not been kind to MSU's recruiting efforts for the past few years. I could be wrong in this thinking, and it may not matter, but it seems that Rivals may lean towards picking more players for the Under Armour game that are committed to schools or being recruited by schools that have large Rivals memberships.

If that is the case, there is no doubt that this partnership could have an effect on our recruiting. All Rivals has to do is pick OM commitments, because they have a large Rivals membership, and one of our commits that they want to flip. Then throw them together for a week in Florida and hope the kid flips.

I have never been a huge fan of these all-star games because I feel that they funnel the top talent towards certain schools, due to the power schools having more players there, and thus being able to recruit commits to schools with less players there.

I am just not a big fan of recruiting sites, that make money off the number of subscribers, picking all-star game rosters, because inevitably they will lean towards picking players from schools that have big Rivals sites.

What say you? Big deal, not a big deal?

If anything they would want more uncommitted players to play to a broader base. If a player was uncommitted but had us in his top five, I might watch. Whereas a player that had us high but commited to Georgia would not hold my interest.

If you watched the under armour game, you will see various olemiss/ olemiss sympathizers standing around on the sidelines. I noticed this year that everytime MSU was mentioned, ususally b/c Chris Jones did something on the field, it was immediately followed by olemiss dick sucking concerning their recruiting class. I really just assume that our commits not be involved in this game. Even though it is good publicity for the school to have commits playing , it isn't worth various rebels following our commits around with their dicks hanging out.

I think it's time you take a step back from the recruiting and walk around outside for some fresh air.

No need for some fresh air. I just choose to not bury my head in the sand. That being said, I think this partnership is something that COULD effect recruiting, and is worth discussing. I just don't like media and recruiting sites having a potential impact on recruiting because they will choose to line their pocket with more money ever single time.
