If the young man that played LB on the defensive left side last year is back then I am in on them being a dominant D. He stood out to me and although the championship didn't go as they wanted, I did see some very positive things they have in place. I am pretty sure he was a JR.

I sat with a fellow at a scrimmage this year that was fairly close to the Sussex team. Based on what he said, and it was primarily about their defense, I think you are spot on in considering them a top team. I seem to recall him saying that their linebacker play was a difference maker.

I just took a quick peek at the points they have given up this year in two games. That would be a big fat 0!!!

I'll bet defense (and linebackers in particular) was a priority for their coach after last year's championship. Riverheads ran everything between the tackles and Sussex couldn't stop it. They tried every adjustment they could and nothing worked. I promise Sussex won't get beat that way this year.

Always good to come on here for the first time in a while and see xcross is still the same fool and that Gunz got his feelings hurt. Wish TrevorCash wasn't focused on racing... or his football team was worth talking about.... and we could hear from him.

Either team could have won that game last week, both will have an impact on the playoffs. How about that Shenandoah District.
