Ellobo, you seem like you pay pretty close attention to recruiting news, and I generally think you are an OK guy that brings some valuable information to this board, but you really set yourself up for some major abuse when you think you know it all and it blows up in your face. One thing an expensive education doesn't always buy...is the knowledge that a little humility goes a long way.
Fair enough (on setting myself up...it is the nature of message boards)...I guess I'm the sort that would rather know the truth and don't need the world sugar coated for me.

What you choose to believe through 4th hand info should not be construed as truth.
Now run along to the next schools site that MU loses a recruit to. I am sure they will love to hear all of your facts, with great "proof" to back it up.

After reading the quote from the Michigan paper, you're still of the mind that the kid is confused? No one will know for sure, but it appears that he did indeed receive an offer from Michigan.

I'm not going to worry too much about it. Whether we like or dislike the scholarship offer, he is in the fray and we will support him until he either decommits or doesn't perform on the field. I would suspect the kid has tremendous ability, but his height gets him dinged on recruiting rankings. I'm hopeful he has a pretty wide wingspan.

Positive outcome for most, except a few.

Social media at its finest ...

Ignoring the negative pundits is a self preserving strategy. After all, their intentions are your reactions!

Welcome Mr. Porcher. That skybox is going to be pretty full of some big time ex-NFL papa's the next few years. Great job coaches on getting this commit. Big position of need and recruits like this (regardless of the 2 star ranking currently) make waves nationally...

Allen Treiu, who wrote the linked Detroit News article, used to be just a message board fan (much like any of us) who subscribed to our scout site. He got so much into to it he turned into a career by first reporting (blogging) on Michigan recruiting news and eventually becoming Scout's Midwest guy. He is still a regular poster on our site. As is his local replacement who wrote the article (with quotes from the kid) that I referred to. I know what they say off the record. I'm not saying there wasn't interest...all I am saying the next move was to get him on campus in order to further evaluate him. You can take that however you want.

What about Anthony Payne? I saw that he has been offered by Michigan recently as well (we have not offered, yet). Is this a legit offer or another conditional/ maybe/ only if you bring a friend and someone else better doesn't want it later offer?

I'm not enamored with his Sparq score, which is in the 60s, and his shuttle time doesn't exactly scream of quickness. This may be an offer to bring a good player in, but may also help to set us up well for one of his teammates and build a relationship with this HS program in general.

I'm not sure if you are mocking me or asking honestly...but in case you are actually asking...I'm not 100% sure on the "condition" of his offer but he was seen at a camp which means the interest is likely legit. Michigan has been a little less liberal with camp offers this year compared to last year. What is interesting is they are telling him he is wanted at LB. On paper he seems a bit big for it (especially since he is still in HS) but from what I hear he is pretty maxed out on his frame and moves well (had an impressive SPARQ score for a kid his size...111 irrc). He is currently being recruited by our OL coach so I guess if our LB coach gets more involved (who also happens to be our top recruiter) we'll know how interested Michigan is (or visa versa).

Any thoughts on who is next? I thought Rahyme Johnson would be, but now that Lenoir went to Oregon I am not certain we're even going to land him.
Are Rahyme Johnson and Lenoir connected in any way? I'm like you, I thought he'd commit by now if he was going to. But he did pull the trigger early to UCLA so maybe he's taking his time to get it right so he won't have to feel like decommitting again. I still think (or hopeful) we'll get Rahyme. He would be an an amazing get.

BTW welcome Mr. Procher! Very solid commit!

Spare scores can jump quickly, if one hadn't been training for them. Love his stats; so some are hating his quickness in games and maybe even some double teams. Another poster here validates his film; which raises my excitement over his scores even higher. The twins came here very talented; and we have rewarded their hard work to a whole new level. Great get to the team. GBR

Michigan has been doing less with more for virtually all of the modern era of CFB. I'll let them have their prima donna attitudes about who is worthy of an offer or not, as long as OSU and NU keep showing them how national titles are actually won.

It's an offer if he commits to Michigan. If he commits elsewhere there was never an offer. Gotta pay attention.

Didn't Michigan do 3,000,047 satellite camps this offseason? They better be selective, that's a lot!

Oh, would you look at that? Here I come to read what SHOULD BE a thread congratulating a promising player on his commit to a promising DL coach and a school that will take good care of him...

Instead it's a ****-flinging contest and as usual, it's the same angry chimp who threw the first pile.

Oh look. The baby who complains at every chance defends a guy trashing our latest commit. Can't say I am surprised. Victim mentalities identify with each other.

It is unfortunate what should have been a "happy thread" was quickly trashed by a couple people wanting to bag on the desirability of a 17-year-old kid. You went to bat for the guy, and now somehow you are perceived as the bad guy. I thought your responses were appropriate because people need to learn to back off "Boom" threads even if they have concerns because the boom/welcome threads are the wrong place to be negative.

I think this kid is going to be great. His height is the reason for his low rating then? Most DE's are 6'4 or taller
BOOM -BOOM - BOOM . Just read an article about his commitment; comes across as outstanding and thoughtful in his commitment. HIs dad played 12 years in the NFL like coach P - had a stat filled career in Detroit. .. He must still be growing; in the on-field N visit picture, he looked very favorable in size to coach, who looks larger than the twins in other pictures. , I think we stole one here; he has very good stats, indicates he has a motor. IMO, he will take coaches keep improving 2% at a time philosophy and run with it !!!

Nah. Somehow it is cool to rag on the kid, and support opposing teams fans that feel the need to do it.
But hey, being a contrarian is somehow a badge of honor to the limp-wrist brigade.

We have been...we currently have 2 4* DEs committed that we recruited for 2 years...I'm sure we will process them for some 2*s who don't have offers...I was trying to be nice before...

Bickering between fans on message boards over recruits etc... is just the nature of the social media beast. It can be annoying, entertaining or, sometimes, informative. All I know is this: our coaches must see high potential in this recruit. Period. We are not yet at that time in the recruiting cycle where coaches start taking chances on marginal players after striking out on their main targets. I don't give a crap about how many "stars" this kid has or if his offers are real or if Michigan wanted him. Our coaches were eyeing this kid for a long time, went after him and got him. I think we got ourselves an excellent recruit. End of story.

I thought I read something about him wanting to play with Lenoir because they are on the same high school team or something.

To bring in a post from another thread guys, Porcher IV was ranked as 2 stars when he was evaluated by Rivals at DT because he had been trying DT out for a bit. Apparently he will be re-evaluated as a WDE soon and that should safely bump him to a mid-3 star ranking. He's a big kid, but a 240 pound DT even in high school is going to look a lot different than a 240 pound DE.

I'm truly impressed by your ability to strive for non stop bull ****. However, I do feel bad for you. The amount of time you, a Michigan Fan, spends over here on the Nebraska free board suggests you need to get out and see the sun. If this kid was never offered by Michigan, then it shouldn't mean a damn thing to you. I can't imagine the amount of pathetic sadness you must encounter on a daily basis which motivates you to quickly come over here and shout, "MICHIGAN DIDN"T OFFER!!!" Step away from the computer dude.

When Porcher claimed to have a Michigan offer, moments later the whole Michigan recruiting staff and some coaches started following him on Twitter. It was reported in Michigan media and the UM Staff had more than enough time to set the record straight without violating any NCAA rules. If that was all BS, your beloved reporters would've illustrated that point.

This kid has more than 30+ offers based on his performance in Florida 8A without maturing physicaly. He's also grown about 2 inches and lost some baby fat since last Fall. If you look at pictures from 2015, his dad was still much bigger. If you look at pictures from last week, Junior Porcher is now a little bit taller than his dad. A lot of teams saw some pedigree and knew he had potential to develop a terrific body, (no homo), which would accompany an already high level skill set as a pass rusher.

You should go try to find a girlfriend.

Right, you go off half-cocked in 70% of threads and start trolling for anyone who will have a pissing match with you, but I'm the baby. Be honest, do you have nudes of all the mods? Is that how you manage to stick around?

I'm not defending Ellobo, he can handle himself. I just wish you'd get the counseling for rage issues you so desperately need. If you won't do if for you, do it for your family.

Do you think you encourage people to fight with you and be mean to you because you don't know how to accept love? Was Daddy mean to you when all you wanted was a big hug and to hear that he's proud of you? Is that why you push people away? Do you think a big hug would go a long way?

Hey...sport........

Do you need a safe space where people you don't agree with can't bother you? There, there poor guy.... go buy some new capris and find your next social-justice cause.
How is the transformation going? Are you on full woman hormones now?

Porcher is ranked 5th in Central Florida AHEAD of the WRer Pouncey that Notre Dame just got a commitment from. You can tell from his pics that this kid is just a baby at 250lbs. A couple of years in our weight program and he is gonna be a beast.

My Dad is actually there when I need him. Sadly your son from a broken home will not always be able to say that. Hell of an example you are.
But wait... is the family stuff over the line? Poor poor Beav. Hopefully your kid has a limp-wristed excuse maker to coddle him when you can't.

Dude, not cool. Take that **** elsewhere. There is no need for it.
