The one school that won will be better next year! I am making the bold statement because of the kids that will jump ship from other schools just to enroll there.

How many kids are at Ltown that live in fairmont district? Same as South Rob. I am happy for them. For one reason and one reason only.

This goes out to the ones that wanted a change or said the coach didn't have the support, and the ones that carry a knife in one hand and a bible in the other (hypocrites) crow taste good, no? Hahahahahahahwhwhahahaha!

Swett thanks for serving our country. Some of our youth would be better men at sports and in life if they would serve and be proud of their country. That's one thing wrong today with some of our youth,they want all given to them without earning anything.
Football team in Mo. included. Some on herea king fun of where u got your education.
No respect at all. Thanks again for protecting our country for 21 years while some were watching tv,playing golf ect.

I "guess" the purpose of this thread is to say more kids now will want to transfer to Fairmont (2A) now that coach Heil is there and they are winning? That's why I commented maybe it was placed in the wrong forum. What's gonna happen when Fairmont goes back to being a doormat? Will the kids wanna go back to Lumberton, South Robeson? Success comes and goes in cycles. ..just keep an eye on the feeder schools. If you REALLY want my opinion, Purnell Sweet (4A) should have never been created...destroyed too much history within the smaller communities. Coach Heil has always started off strong...but let's see what happens when this crop of athletes graduates?

Tell me....how many of his former players does he steer to your recruiting office yearly? Does he sit down with you and give you football tips from time to time? Somehow I think we are trying to say the same thing, in a different way 173herd. But feeder schools are the lifeline to ANY high school program....SON!! ....ALONG with GOOD coaching. Glad you brought up the Roger Graham example....he had a chance at PSHS, but couldn't win for whatever reason? But the key thing is, he had a opportunity. Maxton High won State Championships in football and basketball, yet not one coach from Maxton has been hired to coach a varsity sport at PSHS since it has been open. Seems like common sense to hire a proven winner that is local, instead of searching statewide for someone that can only produce 3-4 wins a season.

all those coaches from Maxton High School are either in the grave or more worried about not pissing themselves. The issue is someone will always complain about the hire, but until the job is sexy or has a little more $$$ than others you wont get the proven coach. you will get one trying to help there resume.

Yes, feeder schools are the lifeline to any sport, and recreation is the lifeline of the middle schools, and flag feeds recreation, and parents spoon feed kids, and mother use umbilical cords to feed there babies in the womb. I can go farther but I don't need to. I was being sarcastic to say if the feeder schools are not on the same sheet as the HS then you can win 10 championships in a row but it wont help.

the issue we have in our wonderful county is we think like inbred people! we want a outside person but if that outside person does not run a program a certain way then we want a change. if he doesn't smile at everyone then he will be called a racist! If he has one issue it will be forgiven but then brought up again, and again, and again!! does this sound familiar??????

PSHS will not win at any sports until the person that parks in the parking spot closest to the door is changed!!! He could care less about sports, never played them in school. never volunteered to coach any rec sports. Until you get a individual that understands sports are and always have been a tool to teach young people to learn about life then we wont win. Right now we are more worried about giving kids grades of 59 so they can ******** the rest of the year and still pass.

PS, as well as other Rob County Schools need fair and educated coaches. I feel sorry for the PS bball coach....being from Pembroke he has to deal with extra pressure that any other coach wouldn't have to deal with.

I converse with the previous coach a lot and I will tell you something that only a few know. He put together his own fundraisers (Golf Tourneys and Powderpuff games) without support from anyone and raised $7500 at each event. I am only saying that so you would know he could care less about the who is on the booster club. He was pressured by boosters to play kids and he wouldn't have it so he was told "he lost the support of the community"

as far as the basketball coach goes. he does great things with no support. Pembroke wants to be a baseball mecca because Daddies cant coach football or basketball as well as they can coach baseball. believe it or not they are much harder to teach, coach, and mentor. When you are coaching a sport in the middle of basketball country (North Carolina) you need to have talent. He doesn't have it. to many Private School coaches are trying to showcase that they can do better for the kids and end up doing much worse!!!!

28364, the Booster Club has no say in the coaching, they just try and support them. As far as the money, the BC have their own fundraisers: tailgating at football games, membership drives, 50/50 tickets sales, & their biggest fundraiser: Reverse Raffle at $100 a ticket. I mean there maybe an individual(s) that's a booster member that have a student-athlete(s) playing and maybe bugging the coach(es) for their S-A playing time but other than that no say in who plays and who doesn't.
