I said predominantly and the majority of Congress is older white men. It doesn’t mean they are the only members but they greatly outnumber others.

Hmm, last I checked white people make up the majority of this country. When can we stop pretending minorities should have majority control?

the point is that these laws are being made by predominantly older white men. Many times without considering the input of their constituents. We’ve seen that happen in KY where congress won’t vote on sports gambling when the vast majority of Kentuckians want it.
How much of the left's platform is actually popular before conditioning the populace? The left doesn't give a **** about what the population wants. They tell you what to want and how to think.

50% of women are pro choice. We also see how the left reacts when a black person doesn't conform to the left's choice of how blacks should think and react. The "old white man" complaints from the party who gave us Joe Biden and pushed Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton on us the last six years?

If you're concerned about the color of your rulers' skin then maybe take a look at the religion many of them share as well. 😉

The point is Ed’s comment was correct though. Congress both federal and state level are made up predominantly of older white men. What they want beats whatever the others want. Sports gambling in KY is a perfect example.

We will agree to disagree, seems it was overturned by a Supreme Court that has equal female representation. Hopefully now that’s settled you can argue your point and not make this a racial or sexist divisive conversation. Good luck!

No one said they should have the majority control. But lawmakers should listen to the constituents and a lot of the time they don’t. Sports gambling in KY is a prime example.

It’s a cop out, and yes it’s racist. Ones color does not make them automatically right or wrong. Plus this decision is not being made by just old white men, so it’s inaccurate to begin with.
FWIW, the tipping point on this SCOTUS 'decision' is most likely a female.

Forced birth in a country with the highest maternal mortality rate, no paid maternity leave, no universal, subsidized childcare, no continued birth parent care, frequently inaccessible mental health care, no required cost sharing of the pregnant women's medical care

But remember, the Republicans are the right to life party, LOL!

It was sent back to the states to make the laws which will be done by Congress who again is primarily older white men.

Haha, you lefties just can’t see anything past race. It’s all by design because you’re ideas and policies are unbelievably bad. So it’s “hey, vote for me because I’m a black woman, or Hispanic male”. Not because I’ll fix **** and make your life better. You need to distract from actual issues to have a chance.

That's politics because politicians are mere mascots to the public when in reality, those politicians are puppets for lobbyists, mega corps, foreign nations, special interest groups, etc. They do not give a crap about the voters. They do the little song and dance for votes every few years and then vote how their masters tell them. The people who actually run things are not the ones in office.

Nothing you just said makes what Ed said any less true. You can say focus on race too much and maybe you are right but that doesn’t change the fact that laws in this country are made by primarily older white men without listening to what the people that voted for them actually want.

Ok and that’s true in a million difference ways that are no race related. There are black lawmakers that don’t follow all of the wants of their constituents as well. Every single lawmaker does this and in a lot of cases has to do it.

Why is it a race thing again? Most whites people want gambling as well…

This will go about as well as prohibition of alcohol, guns and drugs. The procedure will still occur. The only difference is it’ll be done underground on the black market instead of in a medical facility.
Yup. You can't stop abortion. You can only stop legal abortions. There is no difference in abortion rates in countries where it is legal vs. countries where it is restricted/not legal. What outlawing abortion does do is cause worse health outcomes for pregnant women and children.

I don’t disagree that others don’t listen to their constituents when they should but again, lawmakers are primarily made up of older white men who by sheer numbers get what they want in laws regardless of what their constituents or the objections by their fellow lawmakers.

Well, Curtis, this country was 80-85% white just 40 years ago so that's not surprising. "OMG! I can't believe England is so white!"

Whose fault is it that the "party of diversity" still convinces all of you to vote for old whites? Your biggest candidates since Obama were Hillary, Bernie, and Biden. The guy you voted for in the 2020 election is old and white and served in Congress with multiple members that were born in the 1800s. That's how old he is. You don't seem to mind when they vote the way you want them to.

Simply not true. Most laws are 100% listening to what people want. The problem you have is you think all people want the same thing apparently. There will always be disagreement, even among like minded people, so we’ll never have a situation where everyone is happy.

To pretend these “evil white men” are just doing whatever they want while ignoring their constituents is false and a joke.

You're conflating not answering one stupid gotcha question with not being able to actually define gender, sex, etc.

It's impossible to have an honest, intelligent conversation with people like Warriorcat because they resort to the most asinine talking points every time.

But by all means. Keep complaining about ***** hats and a swimmer who came in 5th place.
Coming from you this is rich. However, you still did not address the point. Why? Because even you can see how ridiculous your party and people have become. You can't just pick and choose when you are a woman or not depending on the situation.

And yes, my post was intended to be ridiculous but prove a point.

"Keep complaining about ***** hats and a swimmer who came in 5th place."

Ignorant actions continue to come back and bite your party in the ***. Ignoring them or downplaying them in other post only shows how really weak they are.

Ok just for you I’ll change it to all old men. Feel better now?
Would you agree that people that are older have more life experience? Perhaps there's wisdom there, and it's that young people are to naive to realize that.

Again, if you feel a productive argument will be made by negatively describing the age, sex, and race of government members, something that is already set and not currently changing, have at it. I feel it is not productive, and addressing the actual issue is a better way to approach highly controversial subjects. Again, this is JMO. I absolutely could be wrong, and saying old white men shouldn’t have a say may actually be a really great way to settle the argument, I guess we’ll see.

The timing of this couldn't be worse for Republicans. The Republican Party is set up to win big in the elections this year and if this report is true it is going to change the vote. As a Republican I also can't support this. I believe in Pro-Life but at the same time firmly believe Women must have the legal option to make their own decision. And the percentages show most Republicans fall into this category as well. I can somewhat stomach each State being allowed to have their own Abortion Laws because that still provides locations where Women if they so choose can have a legal Abortion.

In addition how does something like this get leaked? No matter which Justice leaked this information they must be removed from the Supreme Court.

None of that insane drivel has anything to do with the topic at hand. Nice try though. Whether they vote the way I want or not is pointless. Lawmakers need to listen and vote the way their constituents want them to. In some cases, that would be for outlawing abortion. In some cases that would be pro abortion. But the majority of lawmakers don’t vote that way. They vote based on their own beliefs and that’s simply wrong. I don’t care if you are Republican or democrat. You are their to represent the people. Not vote for what you want.

I'm not going to get into an argument about if abortion is murder, but in this example you'd face charges in Oklahoma, because that's where the crime was committed, not in Texas. In the abortion example you would face charges in Texas. Those two scenarios are not the same.
Agreed, while the scenarios are not the same the end result would be, taking another life that should be protected.

If this leak is true they aren't banning abortions, theyre simply putting it back to where it should've been decided, in legislatures. Thats how Democracy works, where the people decide. The people don't have a say in Supreme Court Justices.

But how else will you know they're an ally in their gated community and white neighborhoods unless they too complain about old whites to pander to blacks who they infantilize?

I will say, I get a kick out of when the left is cool with a country or a place being homogenous and when they're against it.

Use the logic for ending one life and apply it across the board. The same way one side tries to throw rape and incest in peoples face.

Half the country has auto ban laws in place the moment this happens so it's tough to say it isn't going to have a drastic effect. Like Mega was mentioning, if the Supreme Court suddenly decided gun manufacturers could be held liable for the death they result in, every liberal state in the country would have a ban in place in a heartbeat.

What's blowing my mind is that Alito is (allegedly) arguing that Roe v. Wade is too divisive. The next 6 months are going to be very interesting in this country.

Would you agree sometimes they can’t relate to the world they live in now? They get more stubborn with age and more set in their way and less willing to consider others opinions.

Nothing stopping them from declaring that unconstitutional.
Show us in the constitution where it says abortion is legal even up to birth then tell us about the 2nd amendment and how that is banned in certain cities and states....

Sure, when we boot Clarence Thomas for voting in his own personal interest to keep his wife's insurrectionist cell phone records secret.
