I think my favorite forearm workout is the reverse EZ barbell curl (palms down). That **** always lights up the upper forearms.

But the Spindle & Rope setup will make you cry.

Dang I found this thread and it makes me want to get back to lifting. Nearing 60 now, quit at 50 when I was stronger than I had ever been (for a little ole man). Loved the DL plug. It'll cure what ails you.
DLs are God's Gift to us all BROTHER! You should get back in, you'll feel like a million bucks again! GEt that TEST FLOWING!!!!

If you need some exercises or something to get back into it let your BROgue know mane!

Dear BROheim,

Cool thread, bro. The info-to-entertainment ratio is on point. It’s like an infomercial on roids...but only in a positive way...not the “after school movie” exposes roid-rage kind of way.

Re: forearms
Say it with me: Zottman curls or bust. Been that way since the dawn of time. Admittedly, I’m old AF & the only gorillas at my house are the goal and the glue...but you stick with what gets the job done.

Re: cardio
Old man hoops for me. I get in 3-4 miles & I’m draining so many 3’s that I don’t even realize cardio is involved. Remove the basketball from the equation & I’m stopping at +/- 1/2 mile...leaning heavily towards the under.

Keep on keeping on...

Yours Truly,
Kaizer BROsay

Thoughts on SARMs
Previously Posted on Page One BrassBROw;

You want UNGODLY MASS & STRENGTH Brody? Answer is the old school real deal steroids. Tren is your friend. But those real deal steroids are going to have the most toxicity (especially for the liver) and shouldn't be used by a beginning black market supp'er. I would tell anyone to start with Test and try it out if you HAVE to do something extra.

Make sure to consider things like if you're still wanting kids and if you can get a PCT (unless you're planning on a Blast N Cruise) or if you can get HcG which is rarely prescribed anymore due to FDA cracking down on it.

SARMS SHOULD have less side effects but their newness is still a bit worrisome although plenty of BROS are on them. Both should give you more lean muscle mass but if I HAD to choose, I'd go Tren or DBol.

BUT I always advise against it to friends that ask. It's not physically addictive but FOR SURE is psychologically. People that get ON rarely want to lose mass or lift weight when they're supposed to come off...

There's a ton more info I could give you if you have more questions, my aspring-to-be BROntosaurus-sized friend.

BROsay, MI CARNAL!!!!

Zottmans are indeed DOPE, I just don't do many arm specific exercises as I don't find them personally necessary anymore. For BROginners, definitely hit arms though.

BBall is indeed the easiest and most fun way to get cardio in, I need to pick a spot in Lex and start going. Just don't really feel like paying for a THIRD gym membership but if anyone has any recs I'd love to hear them.

Cutting SAISON so needing to get cardio in but doing these circuits right now and blah BROS.

Deadlifts, squats, bench, rows, pullups. Have they invented something new in the last 10 years?

Thoughts on SARMs
Have done 1 cycle each of Osterine and RAD 140.
Like the RAD better.
Gained the most with Osterine but had more lean gains on the RAD.
No negative side effects other than a little too much water retention with the O.
The downside for me was that the gains don't last and like Rouge said a lot we dont know about SARMs so its a risk/reward thing.
I agree with test>SARMs is prob best route.

Actually there's a bunch of new stuff. New Supps, Lifts, Classes, Yoga is blowing up, Cold Tubs are everywhere now, etc. What you mentioned will work for everyone of course and its the bread and butter but not the end all be all, especially if you're trying to get a one way ticket to SHREDSVILLE, USA Brother

Also, a LOT of smoke working out at gyms now, didn't use to be the case as much. Last gym in Key West was 70/30 girls to guys, new one in Lex is prob 50/50. smile...

SkyBRO---Does THAT mean you KNOW GOD up in the sky and all, pretty cool bruh.

Good info and first hand stuff. From what I've read and seen yeah you kind of have to stay on SARMS to keep gains whereas Test you can keep 60-70%+ if done properly.

The Sauna's and pools at gyms are a godsend. Not many cold plunges by me.. but I spend EVERY post workout in the sauna for a half hour, followed by a cold shower or jumping in the pool. Then, usually one day a week I spend doing the "Executive workout" where the only thing I do is go inbetween the Sauna, Steam, Pool, Hot tub.. over and over for an hour or so. I top it all off with a Water massage bed and then sometimes a cold beer at the bar next door afterwards lolol.

New food item I'm liking.. Overnight Oats. The one I get has some crazy good flavors.. and packs a whooping 22g of Protein and 7 grams of fiber, for only ~300 calories. Bonus that it's almost fully all-natural, aside from some containing Sucralose.. which I know isn't great.. but ****, we can't just eat dirt all day long. You can also meal prep these, too.. and make a few in advanced.

These are great I've heard. I make a big bowl of them in about 5 minutes with my own steel cut oats, chia seeds, local honey, peanut butter and scoops of protein. Delicious and cheap. Can pound about 4-5 BRO bites in 30 seconds and you're FULL for your morning gym seshies...

Yeah check out https://www.oatsovernight.com

I dont think they are in stores yet. There's two ways to make it.. The quick way is to throw it in a shaker with a liquid.. But I like making them overnight as it gives it a more oatmeal consistency. Tastes more like some form of "desert" than an oatmeal.

Definitely a big help with dieting and muscle building. It's a little pricey per.. I think like $3-4 each.. but I think the ingredients, taste and convenience are worth it.

Oh yeah, thats the REAL WHEY to do overnight oats!

Problem is the time consumption.

Also, if you want to see if you'd like these before ordering.. see if your local grocery store (likely not a low end one) has something similar in the yogurt/dairy isle.

There's a brand called "Mush" that's pretty solid (but not nearly as much protein and fiber) and ive found it in my local stores.. and Trader Joe's also has their own brand.

I’ve made the homemade overnight oats before and they were just too mushy. Or maybe I’m thinking of overnight chia pudding that I didn’t like.

Don't know about the pudding but my overnight oats are always just like BROgurt (TradeMark pending) or a little thicker and never mushy. Hopefully make some tonight if I have the energy after two workouts and work.

The consistency can be weird, for sure. I like to think properly made/purchased overnight oats are a little more "formed" than your normal oatmeal goop. Like, you could turn the spoon upside down, and it would likely stick for at least a few seconds.

Unfortunately dieting and eating healthy is going to have drawbacks. Have to find what you can tolerate and work with that.

Any y'all have any recs on where to get VO2 max testing, as well as a DEXA scan (preferably in the same place)? I know cardio **** is kinda anathema to BRO culture, but believe me I ain't no skinny little jackrabbit by any means. I've just always been curious what my true aerobic capacity is. As always, TIA.

I've only ever conducted VO2 Max at a hospital so I don't know where you'd go, I know my cardio is awful but the realest of real BROS definitely hit some cardio pre or post workout. I've started doing muscle-specific KB circuits lately to do both at the same time. Purposely waited til I was taking time off the heavy stuff to do that.

We do STYKU scans @ProofFitness that measure everything but for some stupid reason it still just uses BMI which says I'm obese. :🤦:

BMI is a worthless metric, IMHO, since it makes no adjustment for what an individual body’s mass is actually composed. Its only value might be for use on the general public as a whole to predict stuff like mortality for demographic studies. However, for individuals, study after study confirms that health/longevity are directly correlated with both muscle mass/strength — and if someone has any significant muscle development whatsoever, he/she is likely to be in the overweight/obese categories on a BMI chart, even if their BF% is sub-10%.

Cardio sucks.. but doing those 5 minutes on the stepper or ellipitcal before a lift is a game changer. Loosens up muscles, gets the blood ready for pumps, and those 5 minutes of just a light warmup makes me sweat about 3x as much during my lift.

@Kooky Kats @Wildcat Willy @EVERYONEEVERSTILLALIVE

If you’re plateauing you could think about switching it up and hitting sleds backwards and forwards, battle ropes, ball slams, etc so you’re doing weight and cardio at the same time. I do that at least once a week now to switch it up.

Your heart rate usually stays up consistently higher when doing those, ORRRRRR do one of those in between sets of weights to keep the HR up, burn more calories, etc.

GORILLA BUMP 👊🏽

i am sure that the coach will have me doing all the unconventional ****. I just don’t like being screamed at.

No trainer will scream at you unless you are possibly a serious bodybuilder or powerlifters then those mfers get crazy.
