Found a great new chest exercise to replace the coffin press/hex press.. which are exercises I like, but are hard to do a lot of weight with as the DB's get bigger as they go up in weight, therefore removing the "squeeze" portion. At my gym, the coffin press really only works with 30's as the 35's go up a lot in DB size.

I also found this on Facebook's "reels", which is basically their version of TikTok.. but I found that once you start liking certain categories of videos, you'll get more of them.

Sounds silly, but I've probably gotten more tips of those quick 15-20 second videos than any other media this past year.. from diet, to workout hacks, to new exercises, to even some funny gym videos. Check it out if you have Facebook.

I’m finally back in the gym every day, not going as heavy but happy to be back. It literally changes my whole mood for the day. Glad you BROS are getting it!

No one ever feels bad after a workout (unless you injure yourself). I would say my peak happiness throughout the day, is right after I get done with a big lift, little bit of cardio, a sauna and a cold shower. I've never gotten done with that and said "man, wish I didn't waste the last 2 hours"..

100% Best way to cure a bad day is a good lift! 👊🏽 sauna and cold tub/shower is just icing on the cake for a spectacular release of endorphins. Best legal high I’ve come across.

-Up at 3:45, gym at 5, train two guys, then myself, steam, cold shower, weekend starts at 9:31a, that’s how you crush a Friday.

-It did get awkward in the steam room.
Guy I can’t see through the steam: How long you be lifting?

Me Bout 15-20 years.

Him: Looks like it man, nice…

Me: Thanks bro.

Him: I’m David fist bump.

Me: I’m BROgue

Him: I’ll see you around…

-Just got my bi annual blood work for TRT and health overall done. The requisition sheet my doc sent was EXTENSIVE. The lady was like WOW ALL this. I don’t even know how to put some of these in the computer, let me call corporate.

7 Vials later… Hopefully liver and cholesterol look good, interested to see where I’m cruising with the T of course too.

Time to eat.

My gym (Impact Zone) is the same as Action Bronson’s & 5 minutes from my house. There are more professional athletes and meatheads working out than you can shake a stick at. Screaming and chucking weights is a part of its ‘charm’. The owner is Dave Palladino who is sought out for his training. I stay far away.

Worlds Strongest Man trained here. Plus, grilled Sicilian stuffed Calamari in the parking lot.

I’ve been focusing on core for the last year after having a massive GI related setback. Feels so good to get the strength back. Never take that **** for granted.

There’s nothing in ANYONES life that compares to being healthy bossman. You’re correct. Even just like the flu I had earlier this year, makes you question things. Also, another reason to lift. Puts off the major problems you’ll encounter at some point minus like cancer.

Thoughts on RedCon1 Supplements?

Their site has some of the best deals and bundles I'v seen, and I'm also seeing their products everywhere.. pretty sure I saw some at CVS..

But that kind of worries me.. If a pharmacy has a supplement brand, it's usually over-marketed and not really up to par with the best supplements.

Plus I did a small order on Redcon 2 weeks ago, and no shipping updates or anything.

I’ll say this on PREs. if it has a “proprietary blend” pass” it’s likely bs with fillers. Also, rotate them monthly and take a week or two off on occasion, maybe every 3-4 months. Let your body adjust to not having it for a bit so you don’t just become numb to it.

Gym bros.. I need some new gym attire. I've been wearing the same Under Armour clothes for a while now, and while I like them, they are pretty standard.. plus I feel extra dorky when my entire getup is UA from head to toe. Like I'm a corporate sponsor or something.

I've seen some gym apparel scrolling through Facebook.. but it's a little too loud and offensive for me. Not sure I should be wearing a muscle tank top that says "LIFT WEIGHTS AND EAT *****!" at the local YMCA. I need something in between. Good quality and maybe some retro-ness to it. I used to have some old Gold's Gym shirts that I really liked.

What's everyone go to brand?

-I mostly go Fabletics, durable, comfortable, no logos all over the place, plenty of color choices. There’s GymShark and Lulu and Wolves all that $100/pair of shorts and $80 cotton shirt(but has a huge logo on it yay!!!!!) brands which I feel like most people wear whatever’s most popular at the time which is that stuff.

I’m usually a fabletics shorts or tights or sweats, cut off tee or hoodie type guy with a towel tucked in the towel loop type of guy.

-As far as the leg routine @Mossip, it doesn’t really matter just wear your legs out twice a week and you’ll do fine. Traditionally, hypertrophy training (4 sets 8-12 reps) is the way to build muscle. That’s why most bodybuilders have done it for decades.

I haven’t tried a discount version of Lulu yet, but I really don’t need to either because everything I’ve ever purchased from lulu is on top shape years later. They basically worked performed themselves out of a customer with me. The only thing I’ve had fall apart are their boxers after about 6 years of weekly use.

I’ve got no problem buying a discount product that holds up really well either. I haven’t gotten rid of any of their attire yet, but whatever you prefer is cool man.

Well, yeah just switch it up Brody. You already know what you’re doing then, thought you speaking from a beginner type lifter.

Finally setting the cold tub back up right now and stoked. Didn’t have it in me to try it with a KY winter yet.

I've always gotten the sense that LuLu is 1. Mostly a female brand and 2. Marketed towards rich city folk who care more about "looking good" than actually working out.

I'll have to try Fabletics.. bus is that the one where Kevin Hart is a spokesperson and it's subscription based? I'll have to check out GymShark.

A brand I like is Onnit. They have decent graphic/logo gym tops that do a good job of balancing between understated and actually having some personality. But because they are an equipment and supplement store first, their clothing is limited.

It’s true. Actually I’ve never heard of that dude.

Fable to a is subscription based (you don’t have to be they just make it way more expensive to not be) but totally worth it once you get what you need then immediately cancel it. They make it easy to
cancel too. Im no longer subscribed.

I'm in my mid 50s and have never been much of a weight lifting guy. Age has definitely reared it's head and I found myself losing muscle and strength. I've been doing some dumbbell workouts here at home coupled with pushups, planks, and fast walking on the treadmill. After about a month I feel great and it'll only get better. The older I get I realize protein is my friend.

Lots of protein, for someone that works out a lot or even moderately, you almost are never going to eat to much unless you really try.

Congrats on picking it back up and it’s great you feel so much better. Probably sleeping better too.

I've got to get back onthe workout wagon. My work schedule changed so that I now work evenings/nights instead of mornings. It's really messed up my circadian rhythm and it's hard for me to get motivated to get up and do workouts during the morning/day. I'm so accustomed to getting off work mid afternoon and being able to take a light nap, eat dinner, and then have all evening to lift/run/ride will watching or listening to baseball etc. Never had a problem with the motivation til now. I feel like a lazy POS. I gotta find the willpower to set an alarm and get up and get after it. I could join one of those 24 hrs gyms, but I just don't see myself starting a workout at 1 or 2am. Gotta do what I gotta do, time to stop making excuses when I have ample time during the day to get up off my *** and do it. I used to be in solid shape and now I'm just blah.

3rd shifter here for about 35 years. LOVE the schedule. Fall asleep around 6am and get up around 1. I got all day to do what I want/need to do.

The big perk I've found is being able to set Dr and dentist appointments whenever, or if contractors are doing work on the house or some such, don't need to burn PTO to accommodate. And it's definitely nice no longer needing an alarm clock. I just don't seem to want to lift when I get up. I want to do that stuff after work. Problem is after work is the middle of the night now. I guess I'll adapt.

Monday's is my friend unless I work the weird Sunday for overtime. I schedule all my Drs apps and such on Monday.

So I’m at Planet Fitness, don’t ask I have reasons why lol, and I have my all blacks on and hoodie up because leg day, obviously. Dude at PF came up and said can you put your hoodie down and I said yeah, took it down and said why?

PF-We just don’t like it.
I said, Well is there a policy against hoodies?
PF-No sir.
Alright well thanks man if it’s all the same to you then I’ll keep it up.

Assuming a little old lady was “scared” or something.

Probably getting my PF membership revoked today 😂

Such an annoying business model, basically alienating the highest echelon of the group of people they build a product for.

It would be like a designer store turning away it's customers with the most money.. or a burger chain telling 300lb people they aren't welcome.

Does Fred Minnick make you buy him a new pair of Lulu boxers when you invite him to the Norton Commons wife-swap events?

It’s not their target market. PF want as many lazy people as they can get to pay for the cheap membership and eventually quit showing up, while still auto debiting their dues, cause they’re going to “get back to working out soon!”

I’m fascinated by PF and hope that somebody does a documentary on the place someday.
