I hope they can beat UConn, but I fear UConn is going to “roll” them and win it all.
UConn is scary good. But Bama looks like it is rededicated to defense.
And it is just one game . . . .
Kentucky lost by 24 in the 1974/75 regular season to Bobby Knight’s greatest team, then got them in the tourney.
Funny things happen in one-and-done tourneys.
Unfortunately, UCLA’s John Wooden announced his retirement two days prior to the title game . . . and funny things happened in that title game!!
NCSU>Bama>Purdue>UConn. That's the order of preference.
As much as I don’t want UConn to win again. They’re still not as insufferable as Duke, UNC, UofL, Indiana and Kansas. Those are the top 5 and then it’s a huge dropoff to the next tier.

You never post here, but are a prolific poster on the football forums and adamant in your support of Wildcat football.
Yet, here, out of the blue (pun intended), you don't just post, but start an entire thread in support of Crimson Tide basketball.
This leads me to conclude that you got your gloryhunting fandom mixed up, and mistakenly chose UK football and Bama basketball, as opposed to vice versa.

I’m on the Nate oats train, and if bama wins maybe he will convince the program and the cow lovers to look into the oat goat.

From 1969, until about 1985, I was as roundball oriented as any.
My army-surplus-coat-wearing, hair-passed-his-shoulder-blades, UK Frosh, older brother and I stood in line for 14 hours in 1974 to catch a two rare public tickets . . . . I saw the Kevin Grevey led Cats beat UF in old Memorial Colosseum. There was a guy standing in line with his pup brother, who was a member of “Grevey’s Guerilla’s” which I think had something to do with basketball and smoking lots of hemp.
In short, the next day I casually mentioned I had attended the UK/UF game the night before . . . . And you should have seen the eyes when I pulled out my ticket stub!!!! I was a 4th grade celebrity for a day!
And you really don’t want to know the causes of my gradual shift to football beginning during my first year at UK Law School, until the years I had season tickets for each.
I’ve posted those reasons a number of times through 26 years of posting, and have been “called on the carpet,” by some roundball oriented moderators, and explained in even greater detail my long-term experiences, and then was questioned no more.

Bama+11.5 seems like a lot. I know Uconn is the favorite, but Bama can score that seems crazy with NCST only getting 9.
He’s not a fan of UK basketball. This guy tries every which way to justify keeping cal and Barney. He seems content with an average fb team and traditionally bad bb program.

I love both equally and want more from our fb program. I think we have settled there too. When you see Missouri make a ny6 and win and uk not well hmmm you know??? And Ku football has surpassed UK. Duke is about on level. Let’s get our bb tradition back on track so we have that representation of the state the tradition. The closest thing to a pro organization repping the state of Ky.

Just Sears. Griffen and Pringle came off the bench last year, but neither ever started a game until this year. The whole rest of the rotation is new this year.

I was a fan that was “up close and personal” with a basketball program run like an organized crime outfit, and grew sick of “your ilk” who knowingly got their thrills from a program steeped in decades of sheer swill.
U of L may have passed us in the last 5 years for pure evil, but they didn’t outdo our worst by all that much.
There has been one massive absent tradition since Barnhart’s arrival: we’ve failed to be placed on probation for more than 20 years, more than tripling our lengthiest era of “innocence” between our death penalty in 1953 and “Kentucky’s Shame,” in 1989.

He doesn’t stand up to anything. The ADs in the sec love what he’s done to uk bb And fb will never be a threat. Just a bunch of average programs. That’s what you get with Barney. . His colleagues see him as weak and while they were going for the jugular he is playing nice towing the line. Barney cal stoops all the longest tenured in the SEC. Might as well given them all lifetime deals.

And the revenue Barney generates fell into his lap because of the times. Every corporate bend wants their name on your stadiums. He didn’t do that. He was in the right place at the right tine.

You have no idea how Barnhart’s colleagues view him, and as for “a bunch of average programs,” UK finished first in the SEC in all sports under Barnhart’s leadership, for the first time in program history.
And your statement that Barnhart doesn’t stand up to anything is especially ludicrous: he starred down the very malevolent and privileged interests that had controlled UK sports for decades.

We posted a season with 23 wins, damn near pulled off the regular season SEC title and have a strong recruiting class.
