That still makes no sense to me, logic being clouded by emotion and all. If somehow you two do end up with identical records and Alabama makes the NCG over you because of this weekend's victory, how does this look? The fanbase was pulling more for their rival to lose instead of what was in their best interest?

That's akin to running out of the shotgun on 4th and an inch in your own territory.

I still don't see how you don't get it. He's not looking for an easy route out. He'd much rather beat Alabama than lose to them, but need Alabama to have multiple losses. When you're not in a position to need help, why ask for it?

couple of guesses

1) if alabama lost to Ole Miss, Alabama would appear to be down or possibly the worst alabama team we have ever beaten at home ...kinda like florida game
2) if Ole Miss beat alabama, it would be good for Ole Miss
3) If Ole Miss wins that game, they could make a bowl game a reality
4) your thinking about national championship in week 3, our goal is SECCG ...we beat alabama lsu a&m arkansas and ole miss ...it won't a damn what ole miss or alabama does
5) you are making it more than it is... we never are to root for Ole Miss, and we damn sure don't root for Ole Miss when we control our own destiny

It looks like coach was taking a little jab at TSUN to me. Just because we need TSUN to win their first game against an SEC opponent, in 16 games, against an undefeated #1Alabama team doesn't mean that coach feels the same. Maybe he wants TSUN to lose every game so we can bring in all the top in-state recruits.

Yeah and I'm sure the Johnson kid going TSUN after he was commited to Mullen for over a year still stings alil.
