Osby is looking Really good. He is posting up and scoring, facing up and hitting J's, rebounding, playing good D....damn we should be shot for driving that guy away. Keep a guy like Sidney and allow guys like Hansbrough and Osby to feel like they want to transfer....unreal.

Please Tell me which NBA team Osby is playing for next year.

He is a great college player, but this board's ability for evaluating NBA talent is ridiculous.

I am not in the "he's a NBA player" camp. I just think he's a damn good college player that we should have never pushed away.

Just for the record.

It was obvious when he was here he should of been seeing the floor a lot more and never gotten pushed out. Stansbury loved Ravern 17ing Johnson but not Osby?!! Wtf happened to Stansbury's eye for talent and character? THIS is the number 1 reason Stansbury is gone imo. He simply lost it. He lost his mojo. He went David Duval.

I'm not comparing him to Reggie Miller. Reggie Miller is the announcer man crushing over Osby the entire game.

I got your comment

I am just saying this board has no idea what it means to make an NBA squad, nonetheless be an NBA starter. According to the people on this board Ravern had NBA talent. after all, He was a first round draft pick on NBADraft.net*

Haha well Walter Sharpe actually did get drafted so I'm not so convinced some NBA GM's can judge talent either**

We remember Osby much differently then. It was obviius to me that he wasnt ready to see significant minutes his freshman year and when he got playing time his sophmore year, he did things that put him badk on the bench. There was potential there but he was a turnover machine when he was on the court for us. His D was terrible. He would screw up the offense. He never would've played in Raverns spot because he is a tweeter. He's not a 3 or a 4. He and Kodi were the ones supposed to be sharing minutes. I didn't want him to transfer and I'm not as sure as you are that the coaching staff wanted him gone either. His junior year would've definelty been more playing time for him and he would've been a starter for us his senior year.

Of course he has played well for OU this season. He's a full grown man now at what 23 or 24 years old? Experience and maturity are huge for basketball and he has more of that than most kids still in college.

I just don't get why you few cant let the Stans **** go. He's gone. Romero is gone. We just had our worst record in as long as I can remember. But on the bright side, we do have a new head coach and some pretty damn impressive young players coming back. Let it die and move on. You sound like a whiny little ***** that is still mad at a former high school girl for stealing her boyfriend at the 30 year class reunion even though life went on and her life worked out just fine The freaking NCAA tourney is going on and yet there are several threads with posters with panties up their asses over Rick Stansbury?

Romero Osby is playing in a game and Phil Cunningham is an assistant for WKU whose also playing at the same time. That means some reflecting goes on. Why can't you contribute instead of getting your Stansbury panties stuck up your roast beef gobbler?

He left because he wanted to be a true 4 and we were not developing him. Rick was fine with Kodi and ravern (osby played the 3 some) just standing on the 3 point line. Neither rebounded or played defense.

If players leave to get more playing time go right ahead. But we had key players wanting to get out of dodge .

Complete opposite. He left because he wanted to play three. Ironically, when he got to Oklahoma, they had a coaching change and the new coach made him play four there as well. The word was that he wanted to transfer back Murphy Holloway style and MSU told him it couldn't be done.

In any event, I don't see how anyone can assert that playing time wasn't at least a major factor; in fact, in saying he was stuck playing behind Kodi and Ravern, you seem to be saying that, but then conclude the opposite.

I think he'll have the same problem as Lawrence Roberts. 6-9 four men have a tough road to the NBA.

Ravern had an elite skill. Not sure his body could have put on enough weight to where he could be serviceable on defense, but it's not crazy to think an elite shooter can carve out a niche on an NBA team. Ravern never would have had the work ethic to do it, but seeing how good he was with how little he cared, I tend to think somebody with his natural gifts and a work ethic (even if the work ethic didn't arrive until his sophomore year of college) would have had around an even money chance of carving out a spot on an NBA team. Put on muscle, quicken his release, extend his range, improve his ball handling. Not too much to do over three years of college and a year or two on the bench or in the D-League.
