So far on the season he is averaging 14ppg, 10rpg, 2apg, 1.5bpg, 53% shooting, and 82% from the line. He also has 2 double doubles on the season.

They have only played 2 games and against 2 traditionally weaker programs, but he seems to be doing well so far.

Always suspected that Osby would be able to contribute somewhere. Wish it were on our team, but it didn't seem like it was meant to be. From his perspective, with 6'2" Turner at the power forward and Rayvern playing not one lick of defense @ 3, it must have been troubling. Plus Osby was always on the floor with the hockey style2nd team unit. Lets see how he does against better teams.

Do you know at what weight he is playing and is he playing more 3 or 4?

Thanks.

I mean, I can easily guess at a few things but I hated hearing that he was leaving more than any of the other 15 transfers from the last few years. He was a little rough around the edges early on, but there was no doubt that the kid had talent.

I would have chosen Rayvern. He brought zero toughness to our teams that were badly in need of some. I also would have played Turner at the 2 more than Barry Stewart. Not many agreed with me there, but with Barry, Rayvern and Jarvis together.......that was 3 passive softies getting 30-35 min per game resulting in what we saw, a passive, weak team. To Jarvis' credit he could block a hell of a shot, but his straight up D against good sized players was terrible. Barry to his creditwas also a good defender, but he was HORRIBLE when asked to create or penetrate, and he was asked to do that often.

Hind site is always 20-20.

Pre-season, I speculated that Bryant wasn't ready to get significant minutes, and it looks like I am very wrong about so far. D. Smith is a monster at 1 and Dee fits well at the 2, two guys who can drive to the basket make us really hard to defend. Coach Stans sees these guys in practice so he ought to make goodchoices with respect to playing time and minutes.

Hope Sidney doesn't gain 20 lbs nursing a hurt hand or junk or whatever. He is unstoppable during the first3.0min of the game and the first 2.5 min of the second half. Imagine if he were to get into shape and be able to contribute beyond that. He reallydistributes the ball well. Coach Stans is rightabout that.

“My decision was based on the fact that I don’t think I was able to showcase my skills and versatility as a player at Mississippi State,” Osby said. “That’s no knock on the coaching staff but the system here wasn’t really what I needed.’

Of course we all know the weights can be way off since Sidney is listed under 300. But assuming Osby's is accurate, i would hope at this point he is playing the 4.
6'8 and 235 falls solidly in the 4 category, unless the player has unheard of quickness and athleticism.

I would guess he is still very versatile and they can playhim onthe perimeter and also in the paint.

Osby said he struggled finding his rhythm as a player in the four
out/one in based sets because he felt uncomfortable on the perimeter as
much as the offense called for.

“I felt a lot last season that I could post up my guy who
was usually 6-foot-4 or 6-foot-5 and get easy buckets that way but I
never had the opportunity,” Osby said. “Again, coach Stansbury’s system
at Mississippi State is a winning one but it’s not for me and that was a
big part of why I made this decision.”
