More importantly, how was his defense last night?Ace had 21/3/2 last night.
It’s the NBAMore importantly, how was his defense last night?
It’s the NBA
The kid's dad was right. Even worse now. LOL!somehow it keeps getting worse in the nba. Teams are regularly scoring in the 140s. Insane
Then miraculously, the scoring goes way down in the playoffs when teams decide to give full effort and refs suddenly swallow their whistles. NBA regular season has to be the worst bang for your buck in all of professional sports
Defense is a big reason why OKC is currently 17-1.The “best” defensive team is OKC at 105 ppg allowed. Admittedly I have watched a few of their games and they do truly give defensive effort for most of the game to give up 105 a game with the way the nba is officiated is impressive
no other team gives up fewer than 111 which is horrific and 1/3 of the league gives up 120 or more per game
I remember even in MY youth in the early 2000s the pistons, spurs, nets were giving up 85-90 regularly all year and it was still a fun watch
Not a great game for him last night. The Jazz don’t “feature” Ace whatsoever. He just floats on the wing and is lucky if he even touches the ball while the other guys handle.
Argh.
Utah is tanking, they don’t care that the defense is bad, they want to lose games and will trade Markkenan before the deadline for more draft picks and/or young players. They have a great plan for Ace, focusing on what they think he can do well now, and will build out his game over time. Right now he is being told to shoot on the catch or within two dribbles, otherwise pass the ball. As A result, his efficiency and his assists are way up and turnovers are down compared to when he was at Rutgers when there was literally no plan for him.Not a great game for him last night.
He is clearly their 3rd primary scoring option, right now, behind the 7 footer, and their PG. They are still easing him into his role. He is doing fine.
He IS going to be a star, you can tell. He is a little physically over-matched from a strength stand point, versus older more mature and more physical players. By next season, when he adds 8-10 more pounds of lean muscle mass and the strength that comes with that ... he is going to be something else, at least offensively.
As to the comment about the Utah Jazz defense: Ys, awful, has been awful all season. Probably the worst or 2nd worst defense in the league. No one on that team plays any defense except maybe a reserve guard (#16, maybe?) who rarely plays. Bailey misses rotations, and falls asleep sometimes on defense, especially away from the ball. But he also shows excellent shot-blocking ability on help defense, and reasonable footwork.
Utah also leads to league in number of turnovers: They are literally the worst team in the NBA taking care of the ball - many of the turnovers unforced.
We had Rec YMCA players surrounding these guysThese performances make last season all the more embarrassing.
