"We are in a performance-based profession and have made this decision in the best long-term interest of both the university and its football program" Krause said in a statement.

What does this quote mean??? I don't understand this thinking...

... and I am NOT saying this to throw a political slant / lock on this thread, so PLEASE don't make it political, but - With the first African-American president-elect on a national stage now, does it make it easier to fire the SEC's first black head coach?

I thought it might. All of a sudden, it seems like less of a big deal to me.

At this point I would take Rick Stansbury's empty chair as a coach. Reference SPSR.

"You know your team sucks when the other team's coach gets kicked out after 6 minutes and an empty chair kicks your *** ..."

Easy; it means that.......uh.........winning should be.........uh............5 year plan.........ummmmmmmm..........Templeton.............uhhhhhhh........crap, I guess I don't know either.
This "best long-term interest" business scares me. I'm not worried about what's gonna be happening 4 years from now.
Radical.

he has been going in the wrong direction, however he did not receive the amount of time Croom did. There's no excuse for keeping Croom.

Well, Jesse Jackson will probably still be too busy crying his heart out over Obama being elected and not even notice Crxxm getting fired.

Ron Prince wasn't a bad coach... 16-18 sounds a lot worse than it is... although they struggled this year, KSU was really starting to make strides... he was 2-0 against Texas, but only 1-2 against KU...

Part of his problem was the sky high expectations Bill Snyder left the people at KSU with... Prince is a very emotional, fiery, intelligent coach and will get on at another school and win...

and they spiraled down last year. They appeared to be doing the same this year.

Honestly, I'd say yes, and I am thinking that it is possible that the election may help curb a lot of racism claims. At least I hope it will, trying to find a silver lining.

Essentially, now that you have a minority President, it takes a little bit of the sting away from any racism claims. It's harder to go out and claim that people are putting a race-related ceiling on people in this country when the President is a minority. The argument of race in firing a football coach loses a little bit of steam for the same reason.
