What the hell kind of crap is that. So that was the big announcement of the day. Fantastic reporting. </p>

Seriously, how is it that this guy can keep people subscribing to his site. I have only kept up with this type of information (recruiting sites) for a little over 2 years now and I honestly cannot recall one rumor he has gotten right. He also puts out bull crap like this yesterday to keep everyone on the edge of their seat only to come out today and say within a month or so something good will happen for Mississippi State involving basketball. I just do not understand what fans see in this guys reporting.

He loves to just throw stuff against the wall to see if it just might stick. He's the king of "secret commits" and "big announcements" that more times than not have no merit whatsoever. And the sheep just love the guy is what kills me.

but why do you read his stuff? He is almost never right, and he posts crap like this. For much crap as we give yancy (deservedly), rosebowl deserves equal amounts.

I do not read his page as i am not a subscriber. Just saw it brought up on here and BDJ. Unfortunately, I took it to mean something exciting, but I guess I just have to learn my lesson and think the complete opposite on anything he says. That should cover any future excitement from seeing his BS predictions.

I have access to the site through a friend and I don't really take in what he says about which recruits are going where...I just like to hear his evaluations of players because he knows what he's talking about when evaluating talent. He runs a combine and he visits players all the time so he's knowledgeable there, but as far as his sources in recruiting..he's no better than Yancy or anyone else. Paul is the best at that. He seems to do an excellent job and never misleads or puts out false hope. He tells it like it is and I applaud him for that.

The way he's been posting lately Im almost convinced he's on the BDJ payroll in some informal capacity. If not, he should be. I just think if they announced it formally, then they would have to pay an editor OT to correct his typos so it works out better this way for both parties.

I think not living in Mississippi may hurt him some as far as knowing what is going on in the recruiting world of MSU.

I know from living in Mississippi, if you want to know about what is going on as far as guys getting recruited, the town locals are the best sources. You ask a coach at MSU about a recruit, and they sometimes aren't the best sources because they want to keep things quiet for whatever reason.

Paul is a lot more professional with his writing to- he's not going to call CJ Johnson because he says something like there's a 75% chance that he is coming to MSU and some fans think the sky is falling.

Surely he doesn't read every message board on the planet that is SEC/recruiting related? That would have to be time consuming.

I'm pretty sure he gave up his full time job to "provide better coverage" of MSU sports and recruiting. Not sure if he moved from BR tho.

He's wrong as much as anyone else, but there is a lot he doesn't have to keep to himself in order to maintain journalistic integrity (or at least the appearance of integrity).

As an example, he started a thread about UM trying to pay O'Bryant. Ignoring how true or false the accusation may be, not even Yancy would have posted something something like that. He can because all he has to defend is his interweb cred.

I think Steve and Gene are seeing a pretty ugly picture being painted over on the lake. The message boards are obviously dying while BDJ is picking up more and more steam. Steve appears to be trying to generate some buzz, but the more he goes out on the limb, the fewer times it pays off. If Michael and Paul had Scout.com's recruiting network, it would be all over.

They are the bigger network, you get more bang for your buck as a subscriber, and if they simply merged BDJ into the Rivals network, they would be able to crank out a better product due to having more video, more articles from other networks, just all in an all a better service for their subscribers.

Money may be an issue since Rivals is more expensive, but what do I know.

I know Rivals tried to get Chuck and Yancy and Chuck wanted more control and that is why he went with Scout which I believe is the smaller of the two.
