.....and seems everybody is jumping off the bandwagon, at the very time the team needs them.

So, us fans (not students, they've done well) just simply won't support the team in the OOC, because muh der huntn and muh reasons, and now this pretty good team, beaten up through the hardest SEC of all time, is being abandoned at a critical moment.

No wonder Jans wants to leave. We will never learn our lesson.

Disclaimer - I wasn't there vs. Flarrda either. But not because I think the team is terrible.

And yeah, we probably will lose today, because that's what happens in the SEC. So what.

Well they have played like a$s the last two weeks so it doesn’t help. I don’t think it would be a stretch to say any team that played like that wouldn’t suffer in attendance.

My son was there and said the season ticket holder section sucked. Something should be done about those 17ing idiots buying tickets and not showing up. It’s terrible that they have primo seats and don’t come.

so you can miss games and it’s all good. We miss games and it’s our fault the coach leaves? You’re just jealous I killed more deer than you
Hey I admitted it. Can’t make them all. Just a general statement about our program if I we ever want it to be more than average.

Weather was awful that day in North MS so that played a part. One of the weaker student crowds of the SEC schedule.

You earn fan engagement through performance. We’ve performed poorly at home. The blame is squarely on the players and coaches. You can’t keep asking people to come out and be disappointed again and again.
Yeah, on one hand, I get the argument that our recent poor performance can be attributed to a brutal schedule. On the other hand, though, we've had more chances to get a marquee win than ever before, and we're dman near the only team in the conference that just can't get it done. OM beat Bama, the hogs beat UK at Rupp, and Vandy's taking UT to the woodshed again as we speak. Meanwhile, we're rarely even competitive in these games, and we've got two guys on the entire roster that look like they give a flying 17

I don't know what in the world is going on with Cam, but he's been checked out for a month, and this season is quickly turning into a trainwreck

Annual post on this....

The GTR has never been a basketball area. Football and baseball rule the GTR. Therefore you are relying on fans coming from Tupelo and Jackson mostly. So if you continue to feed Ls to fans that drive 60+ miles, they'll stay home and watch on tv.

Bottom line, is common sense. State doesn't have a populated area to draw fans from. So when you lose.... You get what you have, unfortunately.

6 oclock Tuesday game. Most programs have a hard time getting a energetic crowd at that time... combined with recent performance and thats what happens.

Takes some time to build a following as well... wouldnt hurt to actually win a decent game to drum up some excitement as well.

Maybe when the team stops disappointing, the fans will stop disappointing.

I don’t disagree with a lot that was said previously in this thread. But it is really sad that thousands of empty seats in the lower bowl against a #3 team in the country. That doesn’t help building a home court advantage and doesn’t help recruiting. What stud player wants to come to a program that the home crowd is terrible and has little enthusiasm. The MSU way strive for mediocrity!

I had several family members there and would have loved to just have a chance to not have to sit in the Bob Uecker seats. They can’t afford Bulldog club donations, tickets, parking pass and NIL but they are bulldogs top to bottom.

Many of our fans have to travel to games. It was a rainy mess that night. No excuses, just facts. People will come (and have come) when there's excitement for the program. We've lost a lot of big games that we could have and should have won. There's some disappointment in the fan base. Like I said earlier, when the team stops disappointing, the fans will stop disappointing.

There definitely needs to be some system where the owners unused seats report them to the box office. Allowing other people to buy those tickets or for fans to get bumped up to those seats.

Jam packed crowds for KY, OM, AL and Mizzou. Out of all that we got one OT win. I'm not going to ridicule the fans when they didn't come out in droves for FL. Apparently the crowd wasn't helping the team that much anyway.
This and what @Drebin said as well. You can’t keep asking people to come to games and then keep losing the marquee games and expect everyone to keep showing up.
Am I supposed to drive 2.5 hours to watch us get run off the court in the Florida game? That crap catches up to you.

And I do agree there needs to be a better way of getting tickets to people.

We have either gone to the games or given our tickets away on here for every conference game and several of the non conference ones as well. It takes a little effort but you can get it done.

Also a tip: If you are selling your tickets for a price, don’t ask for a stupid amount of money. And I get it, you paid good money to have those seats but if you don’t sell the tickets did you really accomplish anything other than create an empty seat?

**** that greasy, dread headed idiot.....The team created this **** so they'll have to earn the fans back......Fans not showing up is NOT why they lost.....

I don’t disagree and I know the reality. But at the same time, if we want to break through the ceiling, we have to do our part consistently. Name of the game. What type of program do we want to be?

We are going to have to do it differently at MSU for football and basketball. I get that most program fanbases are built through a long tenured coach with big success coming first. But in this modern era, it’s too late for that. We have to have the support first, in my opinion. Or at least when we know we have a decent coach, which we all know Jans is.

Rosey is a mouthpiece for the athletic dept and if he wants to continue to be able to get a locker room pass and Christmas card from them he has to write fluff like that. It's been like that for years

I debated going. Ultimately my son and I went. He didn’t really want to go because, in his words, “We’re going to get cooked.” It’s hard not to get tired of it.

In reality, our fans are capable of having a full crowd a couple of times a year. If we were kicking *** every time out it might be different.

We do our part. We've done our part all year for the most part. The team hasn't done their part up to now.
