I don’t know about anymore transfers other than Skylar Jones from Arizona. Our freshmen class has 3 freshmen, **** Grace Mbugu 6’5”, **** Myah Epps 5’10” guard, ***Peyton Bradley 5’10”” guard from Meade County she is a shooting guard with high numbers. She shoots 50% from the field, 40% from the 3 point line and 90% from the foul line.

Jessica Peterson, 6'2 Forward out of SMU has already visited, and Tyi Skinner, a 5'5 PG from ASU is set to schedule a visit I think.

Thanks. Saw a newer article from Jody Demling that mentioned that we’re interested in Reyna Scott (guard) from Oklahoma. Also, Carter McCray (center) from Wisconsin.

Carter is a very good player, but at 6-1 she’s more of a PF than a center.

Emily is the perfect example of a woman athlete who could jump and rebound against any opponent. Granted, she was a rare WBB Player at 6’2” playing inside, but was as effective as anyone we have had inside the paint.

I would say the 3 transfers are coming in planning to start, so pencil them in at the 1 (Scott), 3 (Jones), and 4 (Ziegler). Add Roberts in at the 2 and Juffermans in at the 5 and that’s what I’d expect as a starting 5. Top subs would be Berry, Randolph, Istanbulluoglu, and Mbugua. Hardy could also factor in if she develops in the offseason.

On paper: I don’t see Scott starting. Jones - has a chance. Zeigler - should be able to earn a starting spot.

Randolph and Berry may progress enough to push for the starting spots at the 1 and 3. I could also see Randolph starting at the 4 and Ziegler at the 5 in a smaller “center-less” lineup.

It is going to come down to how the young players progress during their Summer workouts. Taj, to me, at the 2 is about the only given.

Grace is athletic, but I got a sense late in the season that Juffermans started to exhibit some athleticism herself. Size is critical, but it requires the ability to move laterally …….something that we have missed since Emily was here.

Juffermans resembles several other posts we have seen in the past. She just needs to improve each year and by the time she is a senior she should be able to be an 8/8 player at a minimum. She got real antsy at times with the ball in her hands. I think the game was just too fast for her and we all saw her gradually catch up. I think we could say the same for Randolph. She was a TO waiting to happen when she entered the game. Then, pop, lights came on and she really started making an impact.

Jufferman needs to get in the gym and work on her foot work and develop post moves instead of traveling when she gets the ball inside. She does hustle and rebounds well.
