However, he said the group's officers decided the difficulty involved with hashing out the seating plan with the athletic department made the reward unworthy of their time.</p>

"We were spending so much time on it, we were afraid that we were neglecting the other responsibilities we had as officers," Thompson said. "The Rowdies would not benefit as much because we would be lacking in other areas."</p>

Bryan said for the 2009-10 basketball season, student seating will be first-come, first-serve. However, he said he feels confident Rowdies will still dominate the lower-level sections of student seating.</p>

"We are going to put it on the Rowdies themselves," he said. "If they want the best seats, they need to get there early."</p>

Byrne agreed, saying Rowdies will probably be the first students in the Hump, making reserved seating a relatively moot point.</p>

I wouldnt say denied...
just not one of the goals that will be met this season. It will happen in the future.
The rowdies aren't going anywhere and will continue to grow.

In reading that article, I noticed the Rowdies have a public relations officer. Whoever that is and whoever has assumed that job in the past BLOWS at doing his job - we're talking Croom-style. I can't imagine that anyone regardless of affiliation with the Rowdies or not could say that they have good public relations, especially with the non-Rowdies portion of the student body.

They're going to have to quit shrinking first. Numbers are down this year according to that article.

Did anyone find their use of the "Beware of Dog" signs to make noise more annoying than their usual antics?

Half way through the game Friday night I was hoping someone would just make them stop.

the numbers are skewed and not true.
Those ******** 700 numbers are just that.. what that numbers is someone who had EVER bought a t-shirt or joined the Rowdies facebook group.
what this years number means is they paid their dues, go to meetings, show up to the exh and the rider game and are a cURRENT Member.

The numbers are going up...and that's including the ROTC rowdies that has been formed.
This is year one.

What the hell? What other duties would an officer of this "club" have? Making sure t-shirts are printed....

What wasn't mentioned was that the AD were getting swamped with complaints from the general student population about this "plan" being ********.

they need to behave like fraternities that are struggling and trying to grow. You actually recruit. Get whoever is the most sociable, people-person in the group and have them start recruiting others. You want them to recruit cool and sociable people, so that they will in turn recruit other cool and sociable people. Nobody wants to be in a group with a bunch of tools. And when I say "cool" and I dont necessarily mean "popular"; I mean regular cool people that like to have fun with other people.</p>Not one single person in that photo strikes me as the type of person I have just described. That's the problem in my opinion.

You don't have a hair on your azz if you don't show up early for the next game with a wig and cape on, and try to get down in one of those low seats.

Treat it like fraternity rush and stick some face guys out front. Tell the guys how cool they would be if they joined.</p>

Nothing would help their recruitment more than to have some girls on the front row who are actually decent looking. No one wants to hang out with a group of people that doesn't have a single girl under 200lbs in their group. Like someone said above, they need to concentrate on getting some normal members before they decide to do anything else.

Wig man hurts their image far more than he helps it.

The way you all are describing the Rowdies is the way it used to be. It has gradually picked up some "random" members. When I looked over at them Friday night I'm not even sure all of them go to school here. Some of those guys looked like there mom dropped them off at the game.
