though. At least two goaltends, about five travels and four over the back calls. That did not decide the game, but he gets those calls every single game.

that's the price you play when you play a high profile school like State and you have a player that the media can't stop talking about.

...Evidently not.

The ball has to be on a downward trajectory.

Varnado swatted the ball before it was on a downward trajectory.

They captured it on film and everything.

Do you have any idea what you are talking about? Our superior talent and better coaching won the game today. It would be inconsistent for you to admit that wouldn't it?-- so you have to make up something.

I was mocking his post that Varnado gets every call.

I can promise you when it comes to sports Im not a dumbass.

My sarcasm wasn't even subtle...how did you miss it?

Wow, you are a homer if you can't admit that at least one, if not both of those blocks (the one at the end and the one right before the half) were goal tends. It didn't cost us the game, but they were flat out missed calls both times. That, or maybe you don't understand physics.

You were given a couple of travel calls, a key reach in, and at least one JV hook that we don't see often, if ever. Besides that, the last block should've been an offensive foul before the shot was made.

JV did the hook at least twice. It's really his only offensive move that I saw to be effective.

The officials sucked, and they sucked both ways. I agree. We lost because we couldn't break down a simple 2-3 zone and find a way to attack it. It's that simple.

but the other was in absolutely no way a goal tend. I have it on tivo and if I can figure out how I would post the screen capture.

A screen capture wouldn't work, because it doesn't show the motion of the ball. The one at the end was clearly a goal tend. The one in the first half could've gone either way, but it's a call that's made most of the time. It wasn't simply because of JV's reputation as a shot blocker.

the unbiased announcers said on tv... Kennedy wants a goal tend on that but that ball was still on the way up when he blocked it

..after losing to MSU in yet another sport? You are either a masochist or a nut.

I'm not a physics genius, but I understand what constitutes a goal tending call.

Go wallow in your sour grapes on the NAFOOM board (or anywhere but here).

I just watched the replay again, and the ball had stopped going up before he hit the ball. That's called a goal tend on anyone but Varnado. His reputation as a shot blocker is the reason he gets that call.

And yes, Terrico could've easily been called for the charge right before that.

because it was't a goal tend. Varnado is a great player, and is phenomenal at blocking shots.

If you think the one at the end of the first half was goaltending, you should be banned for your stupidity.

ok it would need to be a video clip --agree.

But you don't see that called at all really... goaltending is called around the rim most of the time.. Refs will not see a player that has the ability to block that type of shot very often so it will not be called.

and I just watched the last shot again.. It was NOT a goal tend.. that play will NEVER be called a goal tend. Ever. It just won't. the Ref has absolutely no ability to see the top of the arch on a jump shot like that at full speed.

I'm not sure what other one yall are talking about. The one at the half didn't look like it to me but I didn't see a replay either.

As you said, the one in the 2nd half should not have even counted as a block for Varnado because White was blatantly out of control and totally bulldozed Randy Stewart. The one at the end of the first half was clearly not goaltending. Both of our sides are obviously very biased, so the unbiased announcers (even though they are SEC Network announcers) are our best frame of reference. They showed multiple replays and both announcers were very impressed by the block and said so multiple times.

was it not a goaltend or just not ever called a goaltend? Which is it? It was really close. I don't think you can blame a ref for not catching it on a prolific shot-blocker. But at the same time, when I saw it live I thought it was a goaltend, and then the replay confirmed it to me.

He is also awesome at hooking (only one called, but at least 3 I saw), goaltending, and going over the back (did it right before Cranston's last foul).

At WORST the last one was a goaltend, the one at the end of the half was much closer. But, the last one had already leveled out and was headed down.

Y'all travelled on several occasions, too. I don't recall it being called once. My ONLY complaint with the refs today was swallowing the whistles on your team's travelling. And, we were still in no danger of losing at the end. Happy New Year, focker.

the last play before the half but now I see that it could be the block on the play where the Ref missed the charging call on White.

But regardless, it will almost never be called. You can't give the other team 2 points without knowing for sure it was a goal tend. If that shot is blocked lower in the arch then sure it's an easy call.

that's just acting like a douche.

The fact is, when Bost plays like he did today, we are very tough to defeat. And Varnado manned up and controlled the paint in the 2nd half. Great job by Stans and the players.
