I hope it's warmer in Iowa than it is here today in frigid NJ, lol.

RU travels to the heartland to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes today, Sat and Sunday. Iowa has a 3-3 Big10 record, 7th, RU has a 1-2 Big10 record (10th)

As usual, RU starts LHP Harry Rutkowski in the opener, Rutkowski has one of the best ERAs in the conference amongst starters with 2.51, he is 0-2 however as RU bats are still trying to warm up, although Sclafani went 4-4 with 7 Ribbies against Wagner earlier this week.

RHP Tommy Genuario (1-1, 2.13 ERA) is Saturday's Starter for RU and LHP Tevin Murray (0-3, 5.08 ERA) scheduled for Sunday.

"Rutgers and Iowa have split 12 all-time meetings, but the Scarlet Knights have taken 2-of-3 in both of the Big Ten series since 2015. In the last meeting in Iowa City in 2017, the Hawkeyes, who entered the weekend 11-1 at home, won the first game before RU rallied on Saturday behind a quality start by Brito and 10 hits from the last five batters in the order. Then on Sunday, Rutgers slugged seven extra-base hits and scored 13 runs, the most plated by the team in a Big Ten road game since joining the conference"

RU loses 6-1 at Iowa in game 1 of a 3 game weekend series.

RU Softball lost at Ohio St 2-0 in the first game of a 3 game weekend series.

And the Beat goes on.

Iowa roster ... athletes from Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, Kansas, California. These JUCOs — Kirkwood CC (5), Southeastern CC (3), NIACC, Mineral Area CC, Johnson County CC, East Los Angeles CC, These transfers — Wright State, Parkland College.
Easy to see that Iowa is a lot more aggressive about pulling together their roster and filling out their lineup card. With the JUCOs and transfers, their roster has more proven, mature players, who arrive with specific roles.

The associate head coach has strong ties to JUCO baseball. Head coach has taken his team overseas (Dominican Republic, Taiwan) to compete, representing the USA. Coaches’ resumes are fairly impressive, starting with the head coach.

Bottom 7, RU was down 7-1 , now 7-5, but still left 2 on base. Double Header today, as bad weather in forecast for tomorrow out in Iowa. This is game 1.

RU loses game 1 of today's DH, 9-5. Hope to avoid the sweep, game 2 starts in about 20 minutes. Not sure if Flosports/BTN plus is carrying it. I may switch to the Yankees ,lol

In game 2 of the DH, RU leads 6-1 w Iowa hitting in bottom 6. Sclafani had a 3 run homer in the first. Let's see if they can hold this lead. Murray pitching well . So far. Hope I didn't jinx him.

Lol, got mixed up with our Women's Softball team at Ohio St this weekend.
You guys are sharp ! Can't get anything past you all !: -)

This week: Home vs Lafayette on Wed at 3pm

Then a Home weekend series against Michigan St starting Friday at 2.
Saturday at 1pm, catch most of the baseball game before heading over to the Spring game, unless Tailgating w friends before the Spring game is a better option ! lol
Then Sunday at noon.
