Sure is. No runbacks. Almost everything out of the end zone. Massive improvement & advantage.
Huge. Field position. Helps Patel focus on 1 thing. Lessens risk of injury every Kickoff. Jude has been terrific and if anything happens to Patel he could fill in there.

Just a hunch, but I think Jude would be called upon for any FG over 51 yards (Schiano did actually mention it without giving a specific distance). Hey Jude can probably hit a FG in game conditions up to 60+.

Patel’s 51 yarder sailed through the uprights with plenty of height. I would stick with him on longer attempts.
Let JM stick with KOs.

It looked a little tight to me…maybe a yard or two to spare with the fairly typical low ish trajectory one sees on a long kick.

The kickoffs are huge in so many ways- first, the obvious, field position. But just as important- the receiving team will never come to the line all hyped up after a long return. To watch your return guy just have to give up on every kick deflates you just a little bit.
