If you're inbounding the ball after you've already passed half court, why are you allowed to throw it in over the half court line without it being over and back?
Dead balls you have all court to start over again.
I always felt like the team getting fouled should have the option of shooting free throws or taking the ball out of bounds.heres what i never understood
why do teams get punished for getting fouled? its not a reward to have to hit 2 shots to get what you could have had anyways...its also not a reward to have to hit a 1 and 1 with no opportunity for a 3
Wow never thought of this, interesting idea. Would completely kill those slugfest free throw contests that make the last minute take as long as the whole half.I always felt like the team getting fouled should have the option of shooting free throws or taking the ball out of bounds.
You wouldn't be able to extend the game late if down. It would make the game a lot less entertainingI always felt like the team getting fouled should have the option of shooting free throws or taking the ball out of bounds.

Why would you ever shoot FTs up under 4 minutes? This would just help teams run the clock taking the fun out of basketballWould put another layer of strategy into the game. Foul SGA, we shot the FTs. Foul PJ, we take the inbounds and a new shot clock.
We still have the majority of coaches that won't foul a team late in the game to prevent said team from hitting a 3 to tie. Most just say "let's gamble" and hope they don't hit the 3, rather than foul and put them on the line to force them to either hit both FTs and get the ball back, or miss one on purpose and try to rebound and win.Wow never thought of this, interesting idea. I hate the kicked ball rule. If the ball hits a defender's leg due to a bad pass (and the defender didn't try to kick the ball) the team on defense shouldn't be punished. Just play on, let there be a loose ball scramble. If it goes out of bounds then give the ball to whoever didn't touch it last.
