I've heard from a reliable source (Can'tnamethem, so please don't give me **** about it) that Stan's blow up at the press conference after the loss and after the dissthis past weekend by theBig Dancewas due in part toRick's and the current athletic administrations frustration with the SEC office i.e. Larry Templeton's role. They have said off the record that Templeton has a complete hard on for the Ninja, as well as Stan's, and he's not doing anything to help our cause, be it Sidney; NCAA tourney: Referee's and you know the rest of the story with our conference. I just heard this yesterday and it may be old news. I'm sure politically correct Larry would never do such a thing, but maybe his "in-actions" could be interpreted a different way. And who knows what goes on behind close doors in their office. It just seems a little too cozy that Kentuckygot allwhat they got this season and Templeton and C.M Newton are the 2 consultants to the commissioner for television and basketball, in that order. Don't know if this has been discussed, but I think it's high time that it's brought to the surface. When you go back and look at Stanbury's rant, it plays right at LT.You can just hear LTtelling Rick to shut up and go along or we'll get in trouble. Larry has had a strangle-hold on us for too long and it's time for us to cut bait completely. Add to that fat-*** Newton's comments on Finebaum about teams like us should appreciate the NIT because would you rather be in the big dance and go 1 and done (like Vandy and Florida) or have a chance to go to New York and really help your program. This was his response to Paul after Paul asked him about our omission.

Hell, I didn't nor do care for the SOB, but you don't work at a school that long, be a Bulldog fan from the womb and then go out of your way to hurt them.....

Now I am not saying he is staunchly helping us, but doubt he is conspiring the hurt us... Plus if he has the hard on for the Ninja, the Ninja would have his *** booted out of the Bryan complex, if he still has an office there.

I am the first to call ********, but LT has not had a great relationship with Rick and we know the story on him and the Ninja. What did he do while AD but piss everyone off on this board. What's to keep him from carrying on his tradition.

and/or help formulate C.M. Newton's ideas about the status quo just out of spite for the ninja & Stans?
I find that hard to believe.

I know that there enough guys on here that talk, as I do, to members of our administration. Please do your due diligence and see what you find out. Off the record, I think you will find that there is a major rif going on.

rather than what MSU wants. I don't know if he would do something just to screw with the Ninja and Rick but I have heard of "loyal" people doing more for less before.

So I will say plausible but really, really hard to prove.

ESPN The Magazine: How long have you been with the NIT committee?

Newton: Since its inception. I had chaired the NCAA's men's basketball committee until I retired. When the NCAA took over the NIT, they asked me to chair it and put together a group for selection. We've got a good, strong committee of retired coaches.

Evidently some of you don't really understand just how lowdown LT is. And you can bet he knows how hard it would be to prove, he designed it that way. Greg cannot and will not remove him from the Templeton center. LT will have to hang himself for that to happen. He is like an incurable disease...we will never be rid of him.

If he is really doing something like this it will come out no matter how well it is hidden. People doing such usually hang themselves.

Here's an idea. You brought this BS up. You do YOUR due diligence and prove it is true. Make sure you poll the membersof the selection committee about their contactwithNewton and Templeton.

and see if you don't read anything by them:

“I’ve been at this a long time, and one thing I’ve learned: At Mississippi State, you’re supposed to take it and be quiet. I had a hard time swallowing this pill because so much was at stake and my players were affected. When does the truth matter?”
Where did he "learn" this from?

or Locke's comments:

As for the NCAAs, despite beating Florida in the SEC tourney – UF won the regular season meeting in Gainesville – MSU got passed over. Why? Because Florida’s a bigger TV market, of course
and LT is theconsultant for television in the SEC to Slive

as well as this nugget from that same column:

Stansbury cited “politics” as one possible reason for MSU’s exclusion from the NCAA field.
and one more, from some "outsiders"

Some outsiders have said Stansbury should stop complaining, let it go, move on. They think he’s whining.

If you are too shallow to understand,of course Newton wanted us for the NIT. Of course, as you referenced, he said on Finebaum that we would be better off in the NIT than loosing on the first day of the NCAA. Of course LT wanted us in the NIT, because he knows if we are a one seed thenthe SEC will be represented in MSG.

And no I will not meet you at the Vet School

I know that sounds like complete ********, but you have got to trust me on this one. I do have contacts, and as many of you know, you can't just reveal their names because it would cause a firestorm and everyone would deny the allegations. I also know that the university monitors this site and this WILL make it back to some who are in charge. My intent here was to state what the mindset is for our current staff and administration with respect to Templeton and his roll at the SEC office and it's OFF THE RECORD. Again, read Rick's comments. He's basically saying that no one is doing us any favors and it's "politics"and you better learn to live with it. Who was telling him that "you'd better learn to live with it? I believe he was taught this from our former A.D.

Will this ever come to surface-HELL NO. How could you prove it. My question to all of you is what worth are we getting out of "Good Ole Larry" over in B-ham. Not ****. He's continuing his tradition ofletting MSU take a beatingto keep his *** in the mix of things with the big boys at our expense. What I find astonishing is how many of you still want to come to LT's support by saying that he bleeds maroon and "he wouldn't do that. I, for one, don't believethat LT has MSU in his best interestand he will continue, as he did for the last 15 years, to throw us under the bus to make his personal gains.

I love how you say that if questioned, everyone will deny it, and then it will never come to light. In other words, you are full of ****, but nobody will ever be able to prove you wrong. This just sounds like a personal hatred of LT that you turned into a conspiracy theory.

this has some legs. I heard this from a few people who would definitely know and even one person in chat which I thought was crazy. It just doesn't make sense that someone who graduated from State would work against the university.

someone who has a personal vendetta against Templeton is behind this. Not exactly surprising that someone would have it in for LT, since he spent a lot of his time making others miserable. But, I just cannot see why he would actively work against his alma mater. Doesn't pass the smell test.

He seemed to be the type that enjoyed being the boss and now he has no power over athletics. He might even view Byrne in a bad light since he got the job after LT hired him. I don't think LT endorsed Byrne or anything of that nature. Hell, people say Stans stabbed Williams in the back and RW endorsed Stans for the job.

I agree. But, the one circumstance I can think of when we inexplicably do harmful things to those we love and care for is when we are trying to get what we want when we want it. The self is a powerful thing. If you could ask Tiger, he could tell you all about it.
