If Wilson is unable to play after being promised he could, I don't like this. If Wilson was promised, he should make the decision.
I'll gladly be wrong.
He was recruited and signed as a football player. I doubt that he was promised anytying of the sort.
Mullen said he'll play basketball but he'll still get a full summer to prepare for football. He didn't give a start day. Said something to the effect that he'll have to figure it out.
in the year that he advised Wilson if he had everything in order grades etc that he would talk to Coach Mullen about him playing basketball. Also told him that not many 6'5 forwards make it to the NBA but there is needs for 6'5 receivers in the NFL. He never ruled it out but stated he didn't think it would happen and was advising against it, especially for a freshman.

due to coaching decisions from his fall sport.
Slow down there and pump the brakes.

Hard for me to see Wilson begging Mullen let him play on a very bad basketball team. Guy could have played for much better teams.
If he plays, I'm happy. If he doesn't, also happy. Guy's future is as a receiver. If he wants to ball a little on the side, that's ok too. It's been proven over and over than college basketball is the best route to becoming an elite receiver.
I hope he uses some of his down time to learn how to catch a football with his hands...instead of his chest.
