I heard that he'soffically to MSU. He should be here in the fall, maybe even sooner.

The catch now is that MSU is working to get him elligable for this season. Not real sure on the details, something about moving closer to home for family reasons? I think thats a bit of a long shot, but thats what I was told.

Take it or leave it..

I don't think he will be approved to play this year but if so then we can win the West. (That was for Coach34's benefit.)

it would be even better news if he were able to come in and play this year. IF he were able to play this year, it would create some interesting discussion on how our rotation will work down low.

Sidney, Moultrie, and Augustus would be a solid rotation down there. Not to mention that Sidney and Augustus can shoot the 3 ball pretty well, but I know nothing of Moultrie's game just yet... I just know he's highly sought after

a close relative has health problems? If so, and they live in Memphis, that could get him cleared due to the “extenuating family circumstances" rule.

Does The Luck of Stans strike twice? Dee back and Moultrie eligible?

please, for the love of whatever god you worship, shut the 17 up. it's bad enough that Kodi thinks he can do it, he doesn't need outside encouragement...

I have no problem at all with him taking a 3-point shot at any time as long as it's a good shot.

the bruiser that we have been missing since Bailey got hurt. I know Sidney is cheering for this to happen...no more worrying about rebounding and low post defense. Everybody wins.

Inside, 3 ball, no-look passes........ Just sit back and enjoy the show next year.

Getting Moultre eligible would be huge and if he has a sick family member then it's automatic, unless the NCAA really hates MSU...

He doesn't necessarily have the prettiest shot in the world, but when he squares up he can hit it... So, again, I have no problem with him shooting 2 or 3 3point shots a game.

I haven't. I only ask because I do know that he is 225 pounds spread across his 6'11'' frame and he attempted 40 3pt FGs last season. He also only attempted 2.5 free throws a game. I guess he could be stronger than what we have been accustomed to down low lately, but on the surface it doesn't sound like he would be the "bruiser" type.

I think he has a bit of a European style to his game more so than a bruiser..

Also, Moultrie is projected as a first round pick in the 2011. I saw that last week on nbadraft.net. They have updated the mocks since then, but the kid is obviously a talent.

Per BDJ, Moultrie has been accepted by MSU to be a student, but hasn't enrolled yet.

If our team looks like this next year then expectations just jumped up 10 notches. (I don't see it happening)
G Bost
G Ravern
F Sidney
F Augustus
C Moultrie

Bench: Turner, Bailey, Benock, Beckham, Riek, Lewis, that JUCO PG that I can't remember.

Here is a decent write-up on him: Link

Tons of potential and plenty of athleticism. Hits the boards well but sounds a little suspect on defense.

You have to get to the line more than once or twice a game at that height and athletic ability. Maybe that just has something to do with the style of play UTEP has? I know next to nothing about them...

and did not realize he only weighed 225. Let me rephrase that he will be the rebounder that we have not had in a while.

If Bost comes back and we get Moultrie eligible, and with Sidney we are a Top 15 team and will give UK and Tenn a run for the overall SEC Title.

b/c of the Stans bashing that will ensue, but now that you mention it, I'm not naive enough to believe that Kodi is being told to play down low and simply ignoring it. Personally, my only complaint with him regarding playing outside has been that he doesn't drive more often (or that when he does drive he tends to charge, travel, or lose the handle).

Very rarely over the past decade have we seen plays drawn up for Kodi or any big other than Jarvis/LR/Mario to score down low.

the NCAA to allow Bost back AND allow Moultrie to be eligible this year after already having been forced to sit Sidney for a year plus 9 games. Something just tells me there is NO way the NCAA is going to do us that many favors given the track record.

Where do you come up with this ****? It's ok for no parity in pro basketball but college basketball should have it? Sharon Fanning should be fired but not S'berry?

amazing

it's because he simple doesn't have the ball-handling skills he needs to play outside and make those kinds of drives... much less slipping a defender and putting up an uncontested 3 (even if it is off the backboard)...

Rider and Auburn? I was referring to the two UK games, the Sidney drama, and having Smith, Bailey, and Beckham out with injuries. What the <17> ishard for you to understandabout that? You of all people accusing someone of coming up with off the wall **** is "laughable".

Kennedy didnt have any bad Karma when he had all those injuries 2 years ago...it was "coaches have to coach the players they have"

I could give a **** about Kennedy. By the same token, you use injuries as an excuse for Pelphrey and Kennedy but not for Stansbury. I wonder why that is?

Look I have said it a hundred times on here that Stansbury did a poor job this year. However, 2 good bounces and our season looks totally different in spite of all that. A 26-9 record with an NCAA bid and an SEC tournament title would have changed the entire perspectiveon the season.

to offset his poor fundamentals and understanding of the game. I can see why Stans landed him.
