Who cares as long as he’s hanging banners? And HUNGRY for a title.

Imagine the things the next coach will have to say to the few holdovers after Calipari…

It's a logic fail of epic proportions. I typed up this big long thing from my soap box, but I realize you haven't said any of the stuff below. Just building off what you said.

Fans are tired of Cal in large part because he's running the same offense from 12 years ago. That won't work in the NBA.

"But in the NBA the coaches don't actually do anything, the players do all the offense."

I think this is false. I also think that if the Lakers believed it--there's really no sense in firing Vogel. Cuz anyone can let the players do what they want.

"The Lakers are really talented, they just need a motivator." LeBron is chasing Jordan. He's chasing
records. But people want me to believe he's lost the motivation to win.

Davis quite literally cannot stay healthy. But when Cal gets there and motivates him, it will all changes.

All of this talk about Cal can motivate them. But...weren't we just blasting Calipari for not having our guys ready for St. Peter's? He couldn't get Grady and Tyty ready for a 15 seed with the season on the line, but he's going to guide guys making 10's of millions through an 82 game grind?

I don't buy any of it. I'm not someone who is worried about moving on from Cal. If he takes the Lakers job, I'll be excited for fresh blood. But I just cannot convince myself the Lakers see this guy as the fix.

Well they do so, I don’t know what to tell you. It’s been explained you’re wrong. There’s too many rumors it’s what they want and they’re the Lakers they know what they’re doing.

Laker insiders and people within are feeding The media the candidates the Lakers want , and cal isn’t getting any ink . I’d just think someone in on the search would mention him , if for no other reason they wouldn’t be wrong if they hired him

Friend of a friend thing here, take it for what it's worth.

Guy I work with plays games with a few former UK football players. This part is legit, as I have played with them some too. They are still in touch with program.

Said they were talking last night that the athletic department is talking about Cal to the Lakers. Say contact has been made and there is more interest than what is being reported. Their guess was AD is trying to get LeBron behind bringing him there.

According to whomever they talked to in the athletic department, they think Cal is leaving. Said the feeling the athletic department has is that Cal is ready to leave and will look at other jobs if not LA.

I asked him about replacements and he said they had no idea.

Again, random rumor, take it for what it's worth
Most talking heads on sports shows say Cal going to the Lakers is a 100 to 1 shot most think Cal can't coach in the NBA.

Better check flightaware.com to see if any flights have left Bluegrass Field for LA.

If there’s Laker noise, I think it’s coming from this side of the Mississippi. Don’t think Lebron is interested, and don’t think the Buss family wants to pay anyone what Cal would command.

Lakers also have a roster mess, and whoever comes in next will be rolling the balls out for LeBron’s chase down Kareem tour, rather than chasing a Title. Hard to see how this makes any sense.

So all of the NBA insiders (Woj, Shams, etc…) continue to make no mention of Cal being an option but somehow some random dude in Kentucky had the inside scoop?

Yep, makes total sense.

I heard my neighbor is skimming off the top at work. His wife recently got a new car and he's talking about buying a boat. TIFWIW

The ONLY reason is because of Cal’s connection to so many former star players, that he could potentially help bring in with AD and James.

I for one believe the “rumor”, because Cal has to know without OT and SS, next season is shaping up to be very subpar. Something will start to leak out soon from more reliable sources.

The OP’s friend is definitely on to something with this.
Oscar announced he's gone? Damn

Would you say you have an Affinity for graphic work? :)
I would say that's a great option, especially for those who don't want to unlearn things. More advanced than Ps in certain aspects...a few fundamental flaws here and there but will go unnoticed by most folks. I have it on my secondary but it's capable of heavy lifting for sure. Clean interface and very few MAE's, at least on OSx.

The comparative pricing is excellent, more power than most could ever need...I'd def recommend it.

I don't see why an NBA team like the Lakers would have any interest in Cal. And that's why I don't believe it.
My thoughts as well. When all of these things have been written of late about calipari being so far behind the times with his offensive philosophy, why would teams at the highest level want someone who coaches that way? Especially when so many of his guys have been "handcuffed by Cal at UK only to flourish later in a more wide open NBA offense." Just doesn't make logical sense to me.

I have the Affinity suite. I want to become proficient with it; however, work and the Catpaw keep getting in the way. :)

I am a technical trainer by trade, so Microsoft, Keynote, etc., are my go-to platforms. I tried developing an I.G. in Affinity Publisher, but with my limited skill set in publishing software, the text editing was frustrating to get things done quickly. Nevertheless, I will keep plugging away at it.

Now, I need my company to change everything out to Mac.

Sorry to derail such a fun thread. :)

I’d love for this to be true, but no way 1) the Lakers want Cal and 2) Cal walks away from all the money Mitch B gave him.
