Somewhere on page 2 the comments on this post turned into a roller coaster
Oh well, I tried. Maybe you’ll get some adult skills one day? Have fun trying to thicken that skin of yours, Winston. [roll]
Make sure to take the last word since you so badly need it.
Thank you for the info, my guess very few people want that Gig, Cal would run to it imoI understand, that's why I started it that way. Just what I heard in the office today
I believe very few want the job because of salary cal issues and the internal makeup of the team, just my opinion. Cal, with the heat hes feeling and the college games new climate, I think would runI don't see why an NBA team like the Lakers would have any interest in Cal. And that's why I don't believe it.
They took Westbrook, so they are capable of very dumb decisionsThat would be the dumbest move the Lakers would make in the history of the franchise.
...naw, I just bash Calipari. You're soon to be the Laker's newest fan bAss. Start loadin' up on that Laker's gear. You'll surely look good sportin' your new threads ... representin' for Cal.Funny coming from a guy that invents his own facts to bash the Kentucky Wildcats.
Why would Davis want a coach that only got him the 4th most shots on the team ?Friend of a friend thing here, take it for what it's worth.
Guy I work with plays games with a few former UK football players. This part is legit, as I have played with them some too. They are still in touch with program.
Said they were talking last night that the athletic department is talking about Cal to the Lakers. Say contact has been made and there is more interest than what is being reported. Their guess was AD is trying to get LeBron behind bringing him there.
According to whomever they talked to in the athletic department, they think Cal is leaving. Said the feeling the athletic department has is that Cal is ready to leave and will look at other jobs if not LA.
I asked him about replacements and he said they had no idea.
Again, random rumor, take it for what it's worth
For the LA job?Heard something similar this afternoon from a UK booster. All he said was the interest is mutual but nothing was imminent. His opinion was it would be to coach for maybe a season or two before he would move into the Front office but said he’d be surprised if Cal took it.
FWIW…this guy has been right about a couple things. Marrow staying at UK and he told me about the Elzy extension a week before it was announced. So he is connected

How many championships do the Lakers have? That would be the dumbest move the Lakers would make in the history of the franchise.
Dwane CaseyAnd who the hell would that be? Zero no one qualified connected to the program. Comprende? Barney learned his lesson with joker.
That’s good enough for me!Music to my ears
He was K. Brooks puppet this year. Boston year before. And he likely would be.
Yeah…from what I gathered, there’s enough smoke, but he’s thinking Cal stays but the rumor isn’t empty, that’s for sureFor the LA job?
There are three (3) reasons Mussleman will not be at UK: Jerry Jones, the JB Hunt and the Walton families. There is far more NIL money at ARK than there will ever be at KY, unfortunately.Too good to be true. If Cal were to leave, I hope Mussleman would drop everything and come to Lexington. Well he could bring some of those recruits with him I suppose.
They needed someone to hog the ball while 'bron was busy complaining to the refs. They took Westbrook, so they are capable of very dumb decisions![]()
That’s a problem Calipari certainly won't fix.How many championships do the Lakers have?
Please don't Google it.
Bron would fire himThat’s a problem Calipari certainly won't fix.
Can you imagine the look on 'Bron's face when Cal tells him to sit on the ball at the 3 minute mark with a 3 point lead in an attempt to salt the game away?
And that's actually what would happen. Not only that, but Bron would publically call him out as the fraud he is too.Bron would fire him
So he's leaving a 50 million dollar lifetime contract to go get fired from the Lakers in 2 years? Yeah, seems logical.
I think you're misjudging how much AD or Lebron would have any interest in Cal coming there. If they wanted him,. it would just be because they think he would be their puppe
To be honest, I was testing how much you know. That’s a problem Calipari certainly won't fix.

That’s cool and all, but there are two facts that you didn't bring up that are very important with regards to Calipari:To be honest, I was testing how much you know.
Now to Cal.
I would not be happy or sad if he left.
But I'm pretty sure as a 70 year old that
championships are hard to come by.
And the coach to please this fanbase is not out there.
The Cats have won 6 in my lifetime; so that's 1 every 11-12 years.
I live in a real world.
Bring in the next coach and I will support him, but I darn sure won't allow
him or her to dictate my happiness and as one fan said, rob me of my joy.

Good point, but it's still predicated on assumption. That’s cool and all, but there are two facts that you didn't bring up that are very important with regards to Calipari:
1) he has had ten times the talent than any other coach, not named K, in the history of college basketball.
He brags about all the huge NBA contracts that UK players have, who else can say that?
2) he's taken UK to 10 NCAAT appearances, won 1 title and out of the 9 other appearances, 8 of those losses were to underdogs.
Yup, UK has only won 8 titles in it's history, but no other UK coach had the huge talent advantages Cal has had.
I don't want to hear the youth excuse, if that's an excuse, then my question is, why are you doing it that way?
Heck, the 22 team was the most experienced team in the history of the program, but they choked harder than any of Cal's freshmen oriented teams.
You can't have that much top end NBA talent come through your program and only have 1 title in 12 years, that's an awful record.
Never implied that.for years people have said the coach to please the fansbase is not out there
The issue with Cal is by his own admission, this isn't a job that you can do for more than a decade unless you are at the top of your game. Cal hasn't been at the top for quite some time, and while he had flashes in the post 2015 time frame, UK clearly isn't on that trajectory any longer.
We may flop in hiring the next coach, but our history suggests that we will get the coach to please the fanbase until he no longer does, and then we'll get another coach.
Hanging on to a coach because he is good while admitting its probable his best days are behind him isn't an approach to sustained success and getting the next championship, its an approach based on fear that leads to failure.
We've had Rupp, Hall, Sutton, Pitino, Tubby, BCG and Cal.
7 coaches, 5 of them with championships.
that's a 70% hit rate on championships by coaching hires.
Hall took over in 72, won his championship in 78
Pitino took over in 89, won his in 96
Tubby won his in year 1
Cal took over in 2010, won his in 2012
See a pattern here with a coach staying too long at Kentucky?
Wow! #2 is eye opening. I didn't realize that. That’s cool and all, but there are two facts that you didn't bring up that are very important with regards to Calipari:

I’ll put the 4 sale sign in his front yard!I’ll help him pack
And actually brags about it like it was some kind of accomplishment! Why would Davis want a coach that only got him the 4th most shots on the team ?
Yeah, it's hard to win 6 in a row, but when you have consistent top ent NBA talent, you have a huge advantage, but bad coaching errors cost UK far too many games. The biggest two were the 2010 Wva loss and the 2015 wiscy loss. Those were coaching errors.Good point, but it's still predicated on assumption.
Hard to win 6 in a row.
I appreciate your point and very tactfully written.
Yep . Rival recruiters got ALOT of mileage out of that .And actually brags about it like it was some kind of accomplishment!
Not if all the referee bias is true.Yeah, it's hard to win 6 in a row, but when you have consistent top ent NBA talent, you have a huge advantage, but bad coaching errors cost UK far too many games. The biggest to were the 2010 Wva loss and the 2015 wiscy loss. Those were coaching errors.
Jay Wright, K, Roy Williams and both coaches at UConn, have done better than Cal, with less talent, they just decided that winning college games means more.
When you lose 8 out of 9 to underdogs, you go 9-16 and follow that up with a loss to a 15 seed, YOU'RE THE PROBLEM.
Again, Cal has had a leg up on every coach that has ever walked the UK sidelines, the talent advantage is huge and in my opinion, he should have at least 3 titles and probably 4 with the talent he has had. Only having 1, is really telling.
Referee bias? You're not one of those are you?Not if all the referee bias is true.
Should have is a pair of shoes that I would have to walk in in order to determine it's legitmacy.
