I'm not one to have "inside sources" very often, but someone I talked to tonight is close to the situation and said that Dee is definitely going to try for the draft this year. He's not going to hire an agent, I don't think. Maybe this isn't a big deal, I don't know, but it caught me off guard. Any one else heard of this?

But was hoping we would make it to next year. This is Jamont all over again- except that Bost is a PG and will actually get drafted high enough....

He turned it over a little too much and was inconsistent with his shot early on....but he will get drafted late 1st round next season for sure...I hope he stays one more year or we are 17'ed

B-b-b-b-b-but we'll have Tranny Beckham back. Remember, he was the missing link this year. With him we could have made a deep run.

Declaring for the draft would be good news. I still think he's back next year if that is the case. Many times guys do this just to gauge where they're at and where they need to improve.

Not even if the draft had 3 rounds instead of 2. Hopefully Dee will get a wakeup call when he has to introduce himself to the NBA scouts (because they don't have a clue who the 17 he is)and can't even get them to talk to him. He's a good player, but it would be stupid for him to try for the draft next year, much less this year.

Bost is probably a 2nd rounder this year and he is definitely a 1st rounder next year...he is a 6'3 PG that averages 13 points, almost 6 assts, and 4.5 rebounds as a Soph

next year he would probably average 15, 6, and 5 boards...all he has to do I cut down on some turnovers and knock down the 3 a little more regularly

I haven't searched any mock drafts, but I highly doubt there is even one out there that has him in the 2nd round.

he would be a 2nd round pick

His game just needs a little more consistency...but his numbers next year will be draft worthy...15, 6, and 5 boards are really good numbers at PG

He is 6'. Maybe 6' .5".

John Wall is 6'4" and towered over Bost.

Bost isn't ready yet. He would be an interesting prospect next year though

if he hoped to be a 2nd rounder. I just can't see any way possible that he is a second round pick this year. If you look at all the guys coming out from college, early and as seniors, and then you look at the guys from overseas that will get drafted, you see that it is a very small chance that Bost would be taken in the 2nd round this year. Next year may be a totally different situation, which I think it will.

Also, I just got done looking through a few mock drafts, and a couple I saw had Terrico White going early in the 2nd round. Here's a couple links that had him going early in the 2nd:

Haha, there is no way Dee Bost gets picked in the 2010 NBA draft. This draft is fairly stacked with very good, NBA ready guards. An NBA team will not take a chance with an unproven, inconsistent point guard. Point and case Jamont Gordon...

I've seen Dee a few times around campus, and no way he is 6'2".....more like 6'0".

I see Dee all the time and I'm almost 6'1" and he's taller than me. He's 6'2" I promise.

as a PG...Dee needs to develop a little more and stay in college one more year...but he will be a next level player

I walked by Dee just the other day. I'm 6'0 and he was at least a couple inches taller than me. He's every bit of 6'2", maybe 6'3"

As long as he's not hiring an agent then it sounds like he's just looking for tips on what he needs to improve for the draft. I just hope he doesn't get a Jamont 1st round guarantee.

I tend to agree although I think Jamont is the most underappreciated player in MSU history. Bost is thesecond best PG in the SEC (behind Wall) and the best PG MSU has ever had. Bosthas an excellent chance to be an NBA PG.

There were several NBA scouts (Blazers, Cavs, Bulls) sitting behind me at the SECT and you're right - Bost wasn't on their radar screen. I don't remember any of them saying a word about him. Other than Vanardo (and they were luke warm on him), the only MSU guy that really generated any chatter was Johnson because of his length and scoring ability. But even with him, I sensed that the only reason he caught their eye was because nobody else on MSU's roster - besides Vanardo - did.<div>

did you see how unhappy he seemed most of the year. I hope this isn't true. We could definitely use it

I would take Zimmerman, Bullard, Chuckie Evans, and Jamont over Dee so far. He has the potential to be the best ever at MSU but he is not there yet. Dee can make running a fast break look like nuclear physics sometimes.

I know it's your wet dream for Stansbury to be fired but I don't see it happening any time soon unless he totally tanks.

I just don't get this "he's not happy" deal, not at all actually.

We basically run a ball screen for him most every trip down the court, and he gets to decide what he wants to do. I watched the second half of an NBA game the other night, and both teams ran what we do (ball screen near the top of the key) for like 15 consecutive possessions. I don't think he could ask for a better opportunity to be the man and prepare for the NBA than what he's getting to do here. It's not like we're holding him back in any way.

Sometimes I think you guys want to stir up **** when you have no reason to b/c you want this to actually happen

I don't think he gets drafted this year, even if he stays in. MAYBE late second round. But if he wants to be on the radar for next year, the best way to get your name out there is to test the waters this year and hopefully get invited to a couple of combines/workouts and get in front of the scouts.

I think this move shows that he thinks he should be draftable enough to leave early NEXT year. If he is, then we will probably have had a good year, so that's a good thing. This also probably looks good for Deville Smith - he can step in as the starting PG.

Again you can sit here and talk til you are blue in the face that you want to fire him but it aint happening anytime soon.

I saw a player constantly at odds with other players coming off the court into time-outs...standing away from huddles at other times, and calling out our coach's strategy in the newspaper after the UPig loss....

And that's not even getting into twitter messages and other rumors...

Ray Charles could see our team chemistry was very lacking this past season

someone posted his tweets and they did anything but convey happiness. His facial expressions/body language say a ton as well.

I think a lot of people will attest to this.

Not to mention at half time of one of the last games this year, I think it was at South Carolina, when Jarvis said something to him about the last shot before half, and Dee quickly snapped back with "Man shut the 17 up!" We watched it on DVR about ten times and it was clear as day, you could ever hear the words on TV. Jarvis was completely caught off guard, and Stansbury was standing right behind it all and just ignored it.
