Dee can make running a fast break look like nuclear physics sometimes.AROB44 said:I tend to agree although I think Jamont is the most underappreciated player in MSU history. Bost is thesecond best PG in the SEC (behind Wall) and the best PG MSU has ever had. Bosthas an excellent chance to be an NBA PG.Coach34 said:as a PG...Dee needs to develop a little more and stay in college one more year...but he will be a next level player
I'm surprised we didn't actually have fistfights between players. Oh wait, we did have at least 1 that we know of. We had several cancers in the locker room on this team, and Kodi and Dee were the poster children. I haven't hated an MSU team as much as this basketball team since the 2003 football team.Coach34 said:Ray Charles could see our team chemistry was very lacking this past season

Care to compare points, steals, rebounds, and free throw percentage?Coach34 said:Jamont's Junior year- 4.9 assists, 4.1 turnovers, 31.8% from 3
Bost Sophmore year- 5.2 assists, 3.3 turnovers, 35.2% from 3
how is that better than Bost?
Probably a 2nd rounder? I am a nerd for keeping up with the college draft rumors and havent heard ANYTHING or seen ANYTHING that would suggest he is 2nd round material. Now perhaps that is because nobody has thought there is a chance of him leaving, but that only further solidifies how little he has been viewed as a '10 draft pick.Coach34 said:Bost is probably a 2nd rounder this year and he is definitely a 1st rounder next year...he is a 6'3 PG that averages 13 points, almost 6 assts, and 4.5 rebounds as a Soph
next year he would probably average 15, 6, and 5 boards...all he has to do I cut down on some turnovers and knock down the 3 a little more regularly
Coach34 said:has far and away the best stats of any PG we have had in our history as compared to those guys in their 1st 2 years
If Bost were to play 4 years of college ball, Zimmerman won't be able to even be mentioned in the same sentence as Bost...
Jamont Gordon - 15.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 4.9 apg.Coach34 said:Bost in his 2 sasons...has far and away the best stats of any PG we have had in our history as compared to those guys in their 1st 2 years
I think Jamont is more talented than Bost and is the overall better basketball player. In the ideal scenario, I would put Jamont on the wing and Dee at PG, but since that can't happen and I have to pick one, I'm taking Jamont.Coach34 said:all these numbers are their 2 Fresh-Soph combined averages- rounded up at .5.......
Points- Ja-Money 14.9.....Bost 12.0...advantage Ja-Money
Rebounds- Ja-Money 7.0.....Bost 4.0...advantage Ja-Money
Assists- Ja-Money 4.8.....Bost 4.8.....even
Turnovers- Ja-Money 4.1.....Bost 3.1.....advantage Bost
Steals- Ja-Money 1.2.....Bost 1.4.....advantage Bost
FG%- Ja-Money 41.4%.....Bost 37.7.....advantage Ja-Money
3pt%- Ja-Money 30.4%.....Bost 34.4%.....advantage Bost
FT%- Ja-Money 67.7%.....Bost 72%.....advantage Bost
So we got Bost with 4 wins, Ja-Money with 3, and a push....and rebounds is not an important category with which to measure a PG, not to mention Gordon almost never guarded the other team's PG because he wasnt quick enough and had to guard a bigger player...
Bost has the overall better numbers...and rebounds only makes it even close
Bost > Gordon

These numbers certainly don't indicate that Dee is "far and away" better than Jamont. Also, 2.9 ppg and 3 rpg is worth something.

If you had one minute left in a game at MSU and needed a PG that you trusted to make the right decisions to win the game either by passing it off or scoring, what PG would you want? Me? I would take Zimmerman. He was tough minded, smart, and impacted the game in more ways than just shooting (thankfully because he was not much of a shooter).
And none of thatmakes his a 2nd round draft pick if he left today. He isnt even on the radar of sites that literally scout with the scouts and talk directly with the NBA decision makers.Coach34 said:the 100 more shots a season that Ja-money took when he played point- I think their scoring averages would be much more in-line with each other
Dee plays PG
Ja-money played handle the ball and shoot it or pass it to Rhodes
