would be starting in January with actual construction to start asap after next years Egg Bowl (assuming funds were raised and hopefully a naming benefactor was established). Reason given for delay in announcement was that athletic dept had to wait to make sure Coach Dan was going to be here to support it (same as billboards). Anybody got legs for this rumor to run on?

He said that they are being told stadium expansion will start extremely soon and he was told it would be done by the time he graduates. (He is a sophomore). Coach Mullen and everyone is EXTREMELY excited about the plans they were shown.

Hearing an 8 (no that is not a misprint) figure donation could be announced before the end of the year. Since today is 12/14, that means within the next 17 days. Stay tuned for further developments.

Hopefully part of Dan's proposed new deal includes timely execution of this expansion. Of course, alot depends on who you ask. If you ask David Murray, he will tell you ground should start moving in 2014 or so since he's still locked into Lonnie Tinkle's theory of athletic management.

Please release stadium expansion renderings to the MSU fanbase in the near future. I know thatthey may not bethe finished product but, like Vroom Maroon, sometimes it's better tothrow something out there and get a responseand even potentially better ideas fromMSU supporters. Right now the Bulldog Nation is looking for something to build on football's recent success and this expansion would really give fans something to get excited about. Just an idea butsome couldbe available atthe team hotel at the Gator Bowlor at the Alumni Association NYE party.

Also, itmay not be a bad ideaif these werepresented to recruitson their official visits inJanuary.

and keeping stadium expansion hush hush until actual dirt starts moving. Seems to be the approach the new administration has been taking lately. Speak in one tongue, and act in another, always keeping the competition on their heels. Much like our football team has done.

I heard throughout the year from a top 300 bulldog club member that Leo left a pretty hefty endowment, to be specifically spent on keeping any future coach that we needed to. His small donation could cover part of the the stadium expansion and Dan's contract through 2020, at least. I don't think Mr. Seal was too fond of our previous West Coast oriented coach and wanted to make sure we held on to a diamond in the rough, if we ever found one. Sad part is that Mr. Seal wasn't given the opportunity to see what strides this university and football program has made in 24 short months. We should all be thankful for Leo Seal's involvement in this whole thing and appreciate him for years to come.

Bring on that expansion, I wanted to buy a couple more season tickets anyway.........

unless we now have a separate donation from the one I've heard of, say around $250 mil.

From the coast and families are friends, but also from another top 300 booster from a northern part of the state that also had same information. Think his donation was more of an endowment to allow yearly funding and keep a coach of the future, when and if we found one. Which I think we have and why I've felt pretty confident that Dan would be here next year and many to come. It would not shock me that the Seal name is on more than the M Club after the stadium is expanded.

if the side of the stadium that the M-Club is located on is indeed enclosed, it would be pretty convenient to name it after him since the M-Club building is already named after him.

A lot of people don't know this, but a lot of former athletes hang out and watch the games up in the M-Club room. And it gets REALLY cramped up there on gameday. If you've ever watched a game up there, it's kind of like watching a game in a vacuum. You can see the action, but you can't hear anything. It's weird, you can see people cheering, and jumping up and down, but you don't hear it up there. I know this because my parents sometimes watch games from there.

So, what I hope happens is that the M-Club building is renovated with added space for the former athletes to watch the game. Also, it would be nice if the windows opened up so that the ex-athletes could experience the game better and have actual seats instead of having to pile up a bunch of wooden chairs up against a window to watch the game that they can't hear or experience. And what's bad, is a lot of people up there can't see because all of the ex-football players who are 6'4" and now 360 pounds get up front so people like my 5'8" Mom can't see the game. As she says, it sucks. And they really need to do something about it because these are people that have actually played for the school and have actually in most cases given time and have even sustained injury to represent MSU. They should be treated better than they are, and I think a lot of people don't know how they are treated after they leave and then come back.

The food is also below average as well, and should be improved as well. I'll go on record as saying it's nasty.

Off of my soapbox.

Joe Sanderson is the one that gave the money for the Sanderson Center and he is dead. Joe Jr. went to Millsaps and I doubt he gives much of anything to MSU.

until there is proof that construction is going forward.

I am curious though. You have to believe that at least part of the expansion will require taxpayer funding. I just don't see how it can be avoided. So, I wonder if they have the project broken up into phases where whatever improvements they intend to start immediately are contracted for privately using private funding sources (think Seal Family Trust)?

during the time of the "mullen to miami" rumors. I think it was Stricklin that told the boys thatwe needed to start moving along with the expansion in some form to show Dan that we are serious about upgrading. When I say some form, he apparently wanted to at least get started on bricking or re-bricking the outside of the stadium. I'm kind of unsure about the details, b/c at the time I was more concerned with what Mullen was saying to them about staying. Maybe someone with more knowledge of the expansion plans can enlighten us on plans to dress up the outside of the stadium as well and fill in the information that I am spotty on.

Stricklin was busting his *** to get all this done when people were trying to say he was dragging his feet. He deserves alot of credit for getting alot done in a short time

Even if 25 goes to a football only facitily, we would still have a 1/3 of the total amount it cost to build Lucas Stadium where the Colts play. I can see the endzone being more than 15. That would leave 210. Are we going to tear down the west side down and redo? That has always been my dream with T Boone Pickens money. Speaking of the total upgrade to OKState's stadium was 260.

It seems like 3/4's of his new threads are a post in another thread that got no response/traction, so obviously that means he needs to start a new thread saying the same thing.

Hey Perez34,don't youhave a blog or something to go write?

And it was specifically for football, stadium expansions and keeping a coach if we had to. He was very displeased with our coaching choice after Jackie and thought he would fix that coaching void for many years to come. $250 million invested properly will return a minimum of $12.5 million a year and this is the way I understand it was set up originally.

M Club expansions have been in the works for a while, and the new jumbotron pissed off a lot of former players who watch games from there. Former HB from the 50's Robert "Red" Collins is a family friend and He brought us up there for a few games. He told me about the M Club expansions a couple years ago. The legs blocked a lot of their view. Plans were to install sliding glass and doors along with chairback seating under the windows for them to sit outside. I could see this eventually expanding the entire south endzone under and up the sides of the jumbotron legs.

From what i have been told the plans to brick the outside of the stadium are to make it match the outside of Lee Hall. I didn't really hear any specific details about it except that they wanted it to bring the campus together since the stadium is in the dead center. I heard this a month or 2 ago so i have no idea where the plans have gone since then, but that is what i have been told from within the Athletic Department.
