No it wouldn't. Big 12 would crumble then. WVU would be independent and division 3. Big 12 can't afford to lose anymore teams. They need to add more. That would be awesome. You know they both hate Texas and now Nebraska has some rivalry games
Texas A&M to B1G, well then WVU to SEC, I'd take that of course. No it wouldn't. Big 12 would crumble then. WVU would be independent and division 3. Big 12 can't afford to lose anymore teams. They need to add more.
There would have to be 24 for that to happen.Texas A&M to B1G, well then WVU to SEC, I'd take that of course.
you do and your 14 other persona's.WHO CARES?
You are absolutely correct. So many posters think that wvu is bigger in stature than it is.There would have to be 24 for that to happen.
Oh I suspect networks, The Big 12 and WVU care because it can impact future earnings.WHO CARES?
Oh yes necessarily. If SEC really wanted WVU they would have been there before Missouri. I would say only way they go is with Oklahoma State and WVU going together as the 23rd and 24th teams. But I suspect SEC will wait on ACC and their mess. Not necessarily.
From a logical and geographical perspective, WVU and Pitt to the B1G make the most sense to me. Unfortunately, logic is out the door.Oh yes necessarily. If SEC really wanted WVU they would have been there before Missouri. I would say only way they go is with Oklahoma State and WVU going together as the 23rd and 24th teams. But I suspect SEC will wait on ACC and their mess.
There isn’t 6 teams in the ACC to be ahead.Oh yes necessarily. If SEC really wanted WVU they would have been there before Missouri. I would say only way they go is with Oklahoma State and WVU going together as the 23rd and 24th teams. But I suspect SEC will wait on ACC and their mess.
Which proves they won't go past 20. Missouri was not last minute political maneuver. That was UL and it failed for them. There isn’t 6 teams in the ACC to be ahead.
The Missouri debacle was a last minute political maneuver.
They were both last minute. The Missouri pick was not publicly discussed as much. And 20 is not a good number for what the P2 is doing.Which proves they won't go past 20. Missouri was not last minute political maneuver. That was UL and it failed for them.
Lol. Hey ignorant one...that would be "There aren't..." not "There isn't..."There isn’t 6 teams in the ACC to be ahead.
The Missouri debacle was a last minute political maneuver.
Click bait. No kidding. Makes you wonder why the title of the thread is rumors out of control.Where do you find this crap (or how hard do you look for it)? OSU is not an AAU member, nor does it bring value of a major marker or alumni base. This is clickbait that smells so bad it's hard to believe anyone would click on it.
On October 28, 2011, the Big 12 conference formally invited West Virginia to join. The university accepted the invitation the same day, and also became a full member effective July 1, 2012.They were both last minute. The Missouri pick was not publicly discussed as much. And 20 is not a good number for what the P2 is doing.
Not what was rumored at the time, Missouri was being looked at before WVU joined the Big12 and behind the scenes a lot of jostling was happening. On October 28, 2011, the Big 12 conference formally invited West Virginia to join. WVU had already been rejected by SEC before Missouri was even thought of. On November 6, 2011, the SEC officially announced that it had added Missouri as its 14th member.
The money the SEC would make from Mizzou joining as opposed to West Virginia was a big factor in the whole debate.
The SEC is not looking to move past 16 teams despite reports of further conference expansion.
If that's the case then Missouri wasn't last minute. Not what was rumored at the time, Missouri was being looked at before WVU joined the Big12 and behind the scenes a lot of jostling was happening.
Anyway, if the B1G and the SEC stay at 16 teams each then there will be only 33 teams competing for the Top National Championship.
The political maneuvering was. And WVU saw it was going to lose out. Anyway the SEC made the wrong choice. If that's the case then Missouri wasn't last minute.
SEC would move past 16 in a heartbeat if they could snatch up ACC markets. Kansas/KSt or ISU may be the only other programs outside of the ACC along the coast from VA to FL.On October 28, 2011, the Big 12 conference formally invited West Virginia to join. Let's see. State of Missouri market vs State of West Virginia market. It's all about the eyeballs, not how the programs perform. 6.18M vs 1.77M Missouri has 3.5X population (eyeballs) as WV.The political maneuvering was. And WVU saw it was going to lose out. Anyway the SEC made the wrong choice.
That's one of the many unsubstantiated rumors floating around out there.SEC would move past 16 in a heartbeat if they could snatch up ACC markets. Kansas/KSt or ISU may be the only other programs outside of the ACC along the coast from VA to FL.
Missouri has 2 markets. That's one of the many unsubstantiated rumors floating around out there.

Every P5 school going east from Kansas to Maryland and below the Ohio River fits the SECClemson, Florida State are big brands that would fit SEC culture.
Five of the 10 conferences from 1991 are either defunct or no longer compete in the FBS. That season, no conference featured more than 10 teams.
The Big Ten and SEC each have 16 members, while other conferences fight for survival. Conference growth and evolution are simply part of college football.
So, whether the SEC will expand further seems less a question of if and more but a matter of when, and with whom.
Wrong. Missouri is an outlier for the SEC and never really fit the SEC. But SEC wanted those eyeballs and extra cash. Big 10 has gotten what it wanted in going coast to coast. FSU and Clemson fit the mold of every SEC team and it's conference. Just because you're P5 doesn't mean you fit somewhere.Every P5 school going east from Kansas to Maryland and below the Ohio River fits the SEC
Wrong about WVU being a fit for the ACC. That’s an aristocratic conference and we are certainly not that. The only school in that league we have anything slightly in common with at all is Florida State and they weren’t even an original member. WVU is really a northeast school but unfortunately there is no conference for that. So the SEC is the best fit.Wrong. Missouri is an outlier for the SEC and never really fit the SEC. Just like WVU is not a fit for Big 12 but both were desperate. Louisville is not a good ACC fit. If the ACC wasn't full of pompous a-holes they would have taken WVU and Louisville would be Big 12 right now.
SEC likes to fit their mold and B1G likes to spread their wings.
Yeah...all WVU has to do is go knock on the SEC door!! They're waiting. That little old redneck conference needs saving and the Mountaineers stand ready! Tylerite. Anti Christian. Bigot.Wrong about WVU being a fit for the ACC. That’s an aristocratic conference and we are certainly not that. Yeah that must be why WVU former rivals are in the ACC. If by some strange miracle the ACC had called before the BIG 12 WVU would have jumped all over that offer.Wrong about WVU being a fit for the ACC. Pitt is not a fit for the ACC either. I don’t disagree that WVU would of went if acc offered before big12, but the acc will never call, and the door is not shut on the SEC .Yeah that must be why WVU former rivals are in the ACC. You might think SEC is the best fit but it's obvious SEC doesn't think so.
Keep living the dream. If it ever happens, and I don't think it will, then I will let everyone know you were 100% correct.Pitt is not a fit for the ACC either. I don’t disagree that WVU wouldn’t of went if acc offered before big12, but the acc will never call, and the door is not shut on the SEC .
I won’t and don’t need that satisfaction. But if it never happens, then WVU is in dire straits.Keep living the dream. If it ever happens, and I don't think it will, then I will let everyone know you were 100% correct.
