This is really bad for RU. UMass was 0-12 last season. RU has had NIL in place. This is not losing to a top MAC team or being upset by an Appalachian State.

The post game fireworks show was a nice touch too.
UMass was 0-33 vs Power 4 teams since 2012 losing by an average of 30 points. If this season spirals out of control, the only question will be if Zinn lets him finish the season or fires him sooner.

I get it....They just have the State print more money for them...but close to $30 million....for nothing...is tough one to swallow.

It's staggering when you look at the buyouts for Pikiell and Schiano. Honestly, the biggest winner from last night's game after UMass was Steve Pikiell. I cannot envision a world where they let both go in the same season.
The financial mess of Rutgers has reached such a state that I'm no longer happy when they get embarrassed, because that just means more burden on the taxpayer when they try to turn it around. By this point it's clear there's no bottom to the pit, no end to the sunken cost. They're going to just keep spending and spending, reacting and reacting.
At the end of the day, Pat Hobbs really made a long term mess with the two extensions. And shtopping the married gymnastics coach at the same time. Difficult to defend him as a nice guy or competent.
Would seem that Brian Kelly would be a natural as next head coach given his connections?

Why would he ever give up that lottery jackpot he hit for Rutgers. Especially at his age.
