I don't know how many people "rushed" the field on Thursday, but I do know that is was few enough that when I was leaving about 15 minutes after the game I actually noticed 2 guys on the field who looked like they really didn't belong (mostly because they were running around randomly weaving between people wide eyed and screaming). I have to think that if it was a bunch of people I would've noticed some big crowd out there.

Admittedly, I was possibly paying more attention to the dejected Rebels packing up their gear all frowny faced with no pep in their loafers at all. I rang and rang my cowbell in an attempt to help them snap out of their slumber and perk up a little, but it just wasn't working for some reason...

I was in section 4 west side row 14. I'd say about 50 people went over the wall to greet some players. Most of the them came back after a few minutes. The overwhelming majority of people stayed in the bleachers at least in section 4 west side.

There are some ...

"Wins" that happen and 'storming the field' would seem appropriate. Auburn's stunning FG return for a TD in the last second of the Iron Bowl over #1 rated and 10 point Bama team that had skulldragged them up and down the field just one year ago ... would be one example.

Ole Miss - State '12 game was never in doubt much into the second half and the ONLY reason OM fans 'stormed' the field was that after almost four years, they had FINALLY beat Dan Mullen coached MSU. And, deep down ... they know it and just CAN'T admit it.

I'll buy that. I was East side and from where I was there was no obvious flow onto the field. I'd buy that 50 could go largely unnoticed from where I was, particularly given my focus on uplifting the downtrodden.***

I was content to heckle bears from the bleachers. Similar to how you get heckled at death valley should you dare to wear your school colors there.
