Thad Wheeler would be a home run
I’m not so sure about that, he took over Blacksburg when the cupboard was fully stocked. His track record since then hasn’t been great. Time will tell though. I honestly don’t think he would be a good fit there.

He didnt coach after the first game of the season though.
You are right he's there on the sideline every week but I didn't see him doing very much coaching last season so I'm not real sure what his role is with Coach Lineburg. All I know for sure is they have quite a job ahead of them trying to get that program competitive in the Seminole again. Worst Brookville teams there in many years.

You are thinking Thad Wells. He was the Bburg coach who left and went to Charlotte. Thad Wheeler is Paul Wheeler's son who was the coach at Warhill for a few years and has been an assistant at Lafayette. Either way I guess it didn't work out for either Thad at Rustburg.

Oh yea, getting names mixed up, good call. Going to be interesting for Rustburg, I don't feel like its a good move.

Watts was a heck of a coach at Liberty. I believe he had a few down years towards the end of his time there, but the talent pool at Liberty really dried up.

When you say surprise, you think it will be surprising as in no one most of us have heard of (like the Rustburg coach) or surprising that it is a prominent coach/AD at a nearby school?
Won’t be a shakeup but I think a surprise is coming.

Prominent coach, not sure about the AD part.

Just pure speculation, and keeping with the Rustburg theme for this thread, I'll say Burt Torrence.

Second guess, for a more surprising pick, I'll go with Bradley from Heritage.

Watts now on Heritage's Staff with Bradley!
Crazy to hear Watts will be at Heritage. Behind the scenes, he had offer to go to Rice with Abell but Rice is a long way from VA and family, much further than Davidson was. Hence Watts is back in the area. Great pick up for Bradley, will be interesting to see what happens at Heritage. I know Bradley has been on his way to being an AD for some years now. With most folks expecting them to dethrone LCA from the district mountaintop, I would guess this year may be his swan song.
