After playing five of the last six games on the road, Rutgers baseball is set for four at Bainton Field this week. That starts Tuesday at 1 p.m. versus Villanova in the final scheduled midweek of the season. The Scarlet Knights are 7-2 in such contests.

BTN Plus will stream online with Lou Brogno (play-by-play) and Dom Savino (color) on the call. Matt Howe and Allie Palmer are set to provide the radio broadcast on WRSU 88.7-FM. Live stats will be available at ScarletKnights.com.

Rutgers wrestling NCAA champions Anthony Ashnault and Nick Suriano will join head coach Scott Goodale for the ceremonial first pitches.

RU losing 4-3 to Villanova (12-32 record) in the Top of the 8th ... still 2 innings to get the comeback!

This is another absolute disgrace. We lost to a 12-32 Villanova at home. We have now lost to Hofsra, Harvard & Villanova that all three we should have never lost. We are in the BIG 10 and we play horrible against so many mid majors. I don't know why this keeps happening year after year but these players are not producing like they should and some how we need much better players. Why aren't we recruiting better pitchers and better hitters. We just seem to struggle in every game we play against mid majors.

RU loses 4-3. Litterio has 6 games to prove to Hobbs as to why he should be back next year.

Hoping for the best but we’ll be LUCKY to win 2 of 6 against NW and IU. Wouldn’t even be surprised if we blow it and don’t make the final 8 into the tournament.

We’re not a good hitting team

Losing teams rarely excel in recruiting and in Rutgers case the baseball team hasn't shown being a member of the B1G has enhanced the perception of the program. Its a college team that simply isn't considered a perception school for difference maker type recruits.Losing to lower level teams isn't considered a upset .

Meh..,it’s the HC...Watch how quickly a turnaround will be made in baseball - like many other sports we’re seeing in since joining the big 10 - once we hire a new coach.

Agree, guy should have never been hired in the 1st place. A 12 yr. career at Wagner produced a 240-372-2 record with count'em 1, exactly 1 winning season. What in the hell in that resume screamed we needed to hire this guy?

1st & 3rd with one out in the eighth. Down 4-3. Good base runner with speed on 1st. Didn't do a damn thing on the bases. Waited for a HIT. Gotta make things happen.
Isn't that where the batter had a 3 & 1 count and hit a ground ball to the 2nd baseman when he should have taken the pitch for a possible walk?

What did we build the practice facility for? Pitching and fielding?
I don’t have know lol. Someone asked why we lose these types of games. There’s your answer. I’m not saying it’s a good one. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be better. It’s like asking “why did the Giants take Daniel Jones at 6?” I don’t know, they wanted a Qb lol.

Not expecting much from the QB, but the jury is still out and you never know.

We aren't recruiting better players because of the embarrassment of a home ballpark we play in. Look at the places where all the other Big Ten teams play. Why would a decent player want to play his home games on a facility that isnt even as good as some high school fields?
