Rutgers Baseball Releases 2016 Schedule

Under the direction of head coach Joe Litterio, the Rutgers baseball program announced its 2016 schedule Wednesday. The slate includes 56 games overall, 24 against Big Ten competition and 19 versus teams that qualified for the 2015 NCAA Tournament.

Why oh why do we keep opening at Miami? We get swept every year for the past 15 years or so and it puts us in a hole immediately. It's not lke we have a reason to improve our RPI or strength of schedule.

Because you get better playing against top competition .

Because you get to play in a hostile environment. Try having 2000 people heckling you.

Because recruits want to go to a school that plays the U.

If playing Miami helps with recruiting, it has been negligible. Even playing and beating Florida Atlantic is a pipe dream. When NJ native Kevin Cooney was the head coach, FAU waxed Rutgers regularly.
