Exactly.
Welp, three straight games of shooting ourselves in the foot or the referees shanking us, every single time we were about to seize a bit of momentum. Frustrating stretch. Tough football team, though. Wish they could get a few breaks along the way but almost all of it has gone against us.

Need new QB and OC. If you think the QB will eventually work out you are blinded by Scarlet. How many years must we go with an anemic offense. We literally have 5 ****in plays.
Who is blocking for the new QB? Who is he throwing to?

How do you explain being a freshman QB with new OCs just walking downfield on this defense?

And this is after a lame duck OC running an offense with same level talent as ours running over our defense.
Best thing that happened for PSU. We can’t stop QB runs against average OLs. What do you expect? It’s not like he’s lighting it up in the air. Hasn’t thrown a single pass.

I'm generally pretty critical of the referees, but they in no way shanked us this game.

That wall is teams with real defenses.
I mean our starting LT is a kid that everyone thought would never play football again. His mobility is severely lessened. OLine just has no depth and our starters, while coached up tremendously just aren't very talented.

IT IS A FRESHMAN QB WITH NEW OCs RUNNING THE OFFENSE. THEY ARE WALKING DOWNFIELD ON OUR STARTERS!
They have a good OL and we can't get any pressure. He's not being asked to do much. We can't block for **** on offense.

This is not uncommon for schiano. The defense is super prepared for everything a team has put on tape, but when things switch up to a backup quarterback that has little tape, the defense is not so well prepared.

Without the ability to execute the passing game we had no chance. It's the same old game plan. D plays great for a half and we keep it close. Then we go down by more than a score and it's game over. Schiano is married to Gavin and refuses to make a change. What did he have to lose to try and let Simon open up the passing game? Couldn't do any worse.

Just so hard to watch this
It really is a waste to watch these games against ranked opponents with good Ds until they get a QB and show some semblance of an offense. There's zero chance (100 percent zero chance) they'll knock off a team like PSU with this O

We’re going to have to forfeit the Maryland game as we’re not going to have enough healthy players next week at this rate.

And that’s our Gavin.
Never going to beat a good or even a winning team with this Offense.
JO response after the game he played today.
Loser mentality. That’s in our OL and strong a fresh mistake of fading on a blitz. Gotta turn around and come back. He makes that catch if so.

But continue with the woe me narrative

Worst fans. 6 year olds

We are still at least two years away from actually being a real threat to the top 1/3 of the league. Need more depth at every position. Need to flush out some of the OL that have been here now 3 years and no longer progressing, need TEs, and will need more LBs and DTs. Transfer portal is critical this offseason to not take too far a step back.

Think Greg asks if we would have taken “having a 6-4 record entering PSU game and being down by only 4 points to PSU in the third quarter” if offered that option over the summer?

The top third gets a lot deeper next year.

Not that it matters but how is #10 for PSU back in the game? He was clearly knocked out like 5 minutes ago,

And that will not change in the next 2 years, therfore you need a QB tat can make plays. This QB can only make a couple decent runs per game and make a handful of 10 yard passes. Not good enough. If it's the best we got we go with it....but don't expect ANYTHING! There is a reason we only have 5 plays in the playbook.

We aren’t a threat to anybody in this league and we are adding UCLA, USC, Washington and Oregon. This league is just going to get tougher and we are going to stay the same. Perennial Bottom feeder with nothing to show.

There was a holding call that was missed causing a pass interference to be called, against us. But you're right, it wasn't bad today.

oh well at least some here loved the 10-6 score at half
I agree with the premise of more offense. Have been begging for it for like 15 years before all the tempo offenses became a thing but I also realize we are what we are and the coach is who he is.

Our personnel is what it is and this is the philosophy they feel gives the best chance to compete and hopefully win.

What Minn did with Tanner Morgan and Ibrahim is the best you can hope for but they also benefited from being in the west.

A really good job is what Oregon State has done with Jonathan Smith. They are a very physical team on both offense and defense. They’re ranked top 15ish area in multiple offensive categories and their defense is ranked in the 30s too so it hasn’t come at the expense of the D either. Last year they had a qb who could barely throw and they still wound up with 10 wins.
