Even with the right coaching hire there is a chance we may have some sanctions from lack of institutional control that can lead to a 1 to 2 year bowl ban.

On top of that with a new coach you are likely to see some of our better players transfer out. That may mean we are looking at a rebuling of our program for 2 to 4 years.

While we have not been awesome with recruiting what if we lose half our recruiting class with the new hire and start trading 3 star decommits for 2 star guys.

Depth chart:
WR - Patton, Grant, and Carlton will be Seniors next year
RB - Goodwin will be a SR while Martin and Hicks will be juniors (Martin or Hicks may be a risk for a transfer out)
QB - both Laviano and Rettig will be JRs. I am guessing 1 of the 2 will stay.
O- Line - Heeman, Webb, and Applefield will be a SO, Webb and Miller will be a JR, Muller and Nelson will be SRs
TE - will have 1 Sr and 2 JRs next year (1 of the JRs may be a ris to transfer out)

D-line - Hamilton, Lambert, and Pinnix will be a SR while Lambert, Turay will be JRs
LBs - Longa, Johnson, and Marquez will be SRs while Margolis and Roberts will be SOs
Secondary - 7 in the 2 deep will be SOs and 1 will be a JR while Cioffi will be a SR (lots of risk for transfer outs)

Where is this bowl ban coming from? Your grasping here. A good coach can save this class, maybe even add some players and move forward. It only took schiano 6 years to go from terry shea bad to a top 15 ranked team.

"PSU post sanctions"??
You may not realize this buddy, but despite Mark Emmert trying to nuke PSU for the next 10+ years, Penn State hasn't had a losing season. Good luck in the future.
You have a firm foundation to build on. We will be 1-0 next year. I hope.

I was just about to say PSU post sanctions would be progress from this season.

If state penn, quite possibly one of the most vile and unprincipled ADs out there can survive what should have been a death penalty (they were ped enablers) then RU will be fine...I worry more about damage from within than anything the ball-less ncaa might do...
