Here's a solid prediction , unless we win ,no matter the score the usual suspects will jump off the bandwagon.
I don’t think so . No one expects a win.
This season is all about getting to 6 wins . That’s going to be the measuring stick whether this season is successful or not

In order for us to win this game, we have to move the ball on the ground EARLY in the game (not in the 4th quarter -- i.e. against Temple, against Va Tech). We also need to move the ball through the air, as well. Wimsatt doesn't need to be the second coming of Joe Montana but he does need to be efficient (somewhere closer to 75% completion pct, and not 50%). If we do those two things, we will be in this game for all four quarters. Can we do it, however, is another matter.
I believe that our ground game will fight a good fight but we won't be able to get the kind of YPC that we need (and, that'll be more on the OLine, than anything else). It seems as though the better the competition, the worse that Wimsatt and the receivers have played. So, I don't think our passing attack is quite there yet. They will have better games this season, however. All in all, a hard-fought game would be enough. I just don't want anyone injured.

Most people seem reasonable, but there are also the delusional cheerleaders predicting a Rutgers win. Even if Rutgers somehow pulls off an upset, it is still delusional to expect it when Michigan is ranked number 2, and unranked Rutgers had two easy wins and another against an unranked VT. A win is a win? No, they're not all equal. The opposing teams have much to do with how good Rutgers looks. Michigan, if as strong as its rating suggests, will reveal a lot about Rutgers. Michigan is loaded with 4-star recruits, and we're loaded with 3-stars and a scattering of 4-stars. It takes a hell of a coach to win when outgunned. Do we have a hell of a coach? I predict another conservative and predictable offense that Michigan will shut down. Wimsat will be pressured when passing and may throw a couple of interceptions. The defense will get worn down from lots of time on the field. I don't like saying this and will be happy to have my nose smeared in this post if Rutgers does well.
Doesn’t hold water when Michigans opponents were arguably worst than ours and did about the same that we did..,
Could be predictions are based on hope and most who predict a win wouldn't bet money on it unless they thought the spread would help.
I predicted a win because I'm hoping for an upset .
Sometimes the unexpected happens and a team loaded with talent falls by the wayside to a less talented roster.

Yes they do, and you can remind us how your optimism paid off. It would be a great boost for the program, players, coaches, and fans. I'll be happy if it isn't an embarrassing blowout like we had last year a few times. A close game would be good.
I am the ultimate optimist and it is still very hard to imagine a win. But with that said- being a fan, every single day and minute leading up to the game, I am still hoping and trying to find a way to rationalize it...

I just prefer to think positive and I believe thinking positively about the chance to win would make the coaches and players feel better then making them instant losers before the game even starts.
Though I doubt they care about why you and me think, I'm sure the players, coaches and most of the RU fan-base like to feel RU has a chance to win every game , be it by being a better team or by upseting one that people get pissed hearing RU fans talk about getting an upset win against a program like Michigan..
Don't let my having an optimistic hope of an upset make you so flustered
Upsets happen whether you like it or not and you just want a close loss .
If the upset happens I'll be more than glad to talk about it
If the game goes badly I'm sure you will brag about how you saw it coming
and told off that fool who talked upset and made you reach for your pack of tums
Appalachian State comes to mind .
Just dream the impossible dream and if proves impossible in the end, at least you had a nice dream about winning before the game was played.
Don't let anyone take your ability to dream away from you because they preach nightmare and that's what they want you to have before every game
I read that Rutgers has a 15% chance of winning. The Rutgers players think they can win and will try hard and I think Schiano thinks they can win if the plan is executed close to perfection. So it's not crazy to predict an RU win but 85% against, and our historical outcomes doesn't inspire much hope.

Actually, if RU can avoid the turnovers, limit the penalties, and actually sack their qb when they have a shot at it....they have a shot at it.
Schiano is gonna bring people all day. Have to figure out how to bring pressure while covering the screens to the RB though. I think Schiano would be fine with giving up two long TD passes for forcing four more punts through pressure.
We don't have the horses. I think we keep it close in the 1st half but eventually get worn down

Dude we're like Max's corner Deli against Jersey Mike's Subs when it comes to payrolls. A bunch of guys that stayed and didn't enter the NFL draft are being well compensated for their decisions. They have a few who would have gone in the draft last year and why they're ranked #2.
