Dogs will see a much better opponent this week. #1 will be back and they will continue to roll up the yards, big plays and points in a blow out win at home. I look forward to seeing who wins the mountain game. A Swain win puts the Dogs at home week three. A Mitchell win puts the Dogs on the road. The speed of this Dogs team will present a super challenge for either team since neither has seen anything close to that type of game breaking speed all year. On the other side, the power running game of Swain and Mitchell will present a challenge to the Dogs as well.

That speed don’t mean near as much when you play a mountain team. Ends and corners are good at keeping that turned up into the middle.

The old speed vs strength argument is moot at this point. Fast teams from the flat country have been meeting physical teams from the mountains for decades. Both have won, both have lost. Speed kills, but only when you can break free.
Yes but as I said that speed doesn’t kill near as much when your ends and corners do their job. That’s the only way to even the playing field against speed.

You mean you hope Mitchell beats Thomasville…was it a hard place to play when Mitchell wasn’t any good?
I think Mitchell beats Thomasville in Mitchell on cold night. I played there in playoffs it's hard place to win idc how fast you are. Away the bleachers on hill away from team and sirens blaring.

Idc who wins! And who knows! If it's cold when y'all play up there you will see. It's highest point of elevation in NC. Gets damn cold. To be the man you got to beat the man so bring it.

Dogs are not the traditional I formation sweep team of the past. They are spread and very fast at what they do. QB is a state champion sprinter and only needs a small hole or crease and is gone. Two big 200+ pound TB's that can run over, around or past defenders, An All-state WR that no team has contained make the Dogs high scoring and hard to stop. Mitchell is big up front, hard nosed and hammers the ball down hill. They can throw it around some, but have not seen the team speed breaking on the ball the Dogs will have. Assuming both win it will be a great 3rd round game. Neither team can assume a win in round 2 but I think both win. The 1A West is a loaded bracket for sure.

Well probably the 3rd highest in NC .. Watauga high School is higher @ 3,176ft and Avery probably the highest in NC @ 3,727ft, 919ft higher then Mitchell and probably the coldest place to play ,I've seen there them have to constantly shovel the snow off the lines so they'd know where they were. Of course Mitchell would be the highest in the 1A playoffs and wind though that natural U shape stadium can get pretty cold.

The dogs quarterback and running back duo is one of the best in the state. It’s almost impossible to key in on both of them at the same time and if you manage to do that then the screen passes to Moo-Moo and #3 are there all night. Also don’t underestimate the dogs on the line of scrimmage. They are not up to the standard those mountain teams are but they are a lot more physical than given credit for this year.
