If Billy flames out this year I could see it. But I actually think Florida may be quite good.

They're preseason no 6 in SEC. If Billy can't beat that, they'd be crazy not to. I don't really see Saban being available that late. Either he really wants back in, or he'll stay retired imo.

I don’t think Saban is made for the current world of college sports. His M.O. was stacking and developing talent. That doesn’t happen any more with perpetual free agency.
I tend to agree, but if Congress sets things up in a reasonable manner...and Florida says we will handle all of that stuff you don't like,
he may just get back in the game.

He’s not made for the current world of doing anything except what he’s already doing, which is talking about football and counting his money. He’s freaking 73 years old, and will be a minimum of nearly 75 years old before he coaches another truly meaningful game even if he did come back, because he’s gonna be 74 in October and he won’t be coaching anywhere this season.

Don't see Saban and Loafers co-existing; two huge egos and everybody knows who would be throwing the big weight in that room.

Rumor on some outlets Saban replacing Napier.

That would be funny, just to see the local Alabama fans reactions. They all think he's the second coming right now. I'm sure that attitude would change if that rumor came true. Florida does need to replace Napier though.

So he’s either in or out? Way to go out on a limb.

Let's say he does come back. Cool. Some say the new college football has passed him by, how would he do it?
School doesn't matter. He'd hire stud coordinators because obviously who wouldn't want to work under him and have that on their resume? They'd then recruit studs. Saban would dominate because that's what he does. Whoever hires him wound have NIL backing or he wouldn't agree with it to begin with, so he'd just continue to dominate.

However; if he's to come back I don't see it happening at Florida. Why would anyone want to coach there? 20 years ago, sure. Now? Nawwww. He'd go somewhere with less explanations where he could half-*** it and still exceed expectations

He’d be in contention but he couldn’t dominate with the nil at the top 5-10 schools. Ohio State can get more talent than he can at Florida

2025 Blue-Chip Ratio

School BCR

Alabama 89%

Ohio State 89%

Georgia 84%

Texas A&M 82%

Oregon 78%

Texas 78%

LSU 73%

Notre Dame 73%

Oklahoma 70%

Yea he could contend, but he wouldn’t have the monopoly on talent he had pre-nil

Sounds like you are saying Mississippi State would be a great retirement job for him.
