Sad Truth/prediction: Brohm will be next UL coach when Pitrino leaves!

Although my faith is waining, I still have a faint hope Stoops works out here, but if he doesn't, Barnhart will never even offer Brohm, a decision that will come back to haunt us for years when he goes to UL and kicks our tails in year after year.

Man, I hope I'm wrong and we continue to grow into the team that we should be, but we are all in with Stoops for better or worse. If he does not succeed, it will set our program back to Joker levels yet again, and Brohm will most certainly exploit us as head man of the Cardinals...and it would be so UK for this to happen! We've gotta break this trend once and for all, and the only way it happens is from great vision and leadership! We let our own big time coach get away with Schnelllenberger...will Mitch let another local guy go by?

Can't imagine Petrino not staying for 20 more years. He's that good according to some on this board.[winking]

Why don't you post this on the ul board or WKY board, if they even have one.

Wah, wah, wah....
wah wah wah...I post it on a UK message board because I'm a UK fan and because it's about UK football and our historical poor management and choices, which seem to be continuing on...not UL or Western Ky's. I've been a UK football fan for all 38 years of my life and had literally had only 2 years to get exited about...and those were mere 6 and 7 win seasons! Is that acceptable to you???If so, maybe you should mover on to Rafters for good!

The pace Brohm is on, the UL job may be underneath him in a year or 2.He has another big year, and UK goes 4-8 next year, then I think you seriously consider him or make him an offer

Mitch would never offer him. Dude doesn't have enough vision to make a hire like that. He'll go after another coordinator or promote Shannon Dawson to head coach.

Blue, your wrong. Even if Stoops isn't the man, which I hope he is, and this coming year will tell us, we will never be back to where Joker left us. Stoops and his assistants have done a GREAT job of recruiting, and if he can't coach them, then someone else can. UK will pay the money if Stoops doesn't work out, and we'll have good talent for the next coach to start with.

jnew2, it won't be Mitch's decision. It wasn't when we hired Calipari, and it won't be if we hire a new football coach. People in the know will make that decision, and Mitch will go along with it.

I don't know that UL will open before Brohm takes a better gig...

Petrino isn't going anywhere...barring disaster...

Brohm is rising fast...he may still take a gig this year...if not, he'll have his pick the next carousel...

...but i'm sure that has been the plan all along...Brohms are a Louisville family...I think it has been assumed by all that he was going to be their coach...

but like i said...the timing hasn't quite worked out for that...I don't know if anyone planned for his meteoric rise...I don't see him just waiting until Petrino retires...he's going to be getting courted every off season...

If Auburn has another terrible year...look for his name to pop up...

Maybe he gets a look from Texas if Strong goes 5-7 again...

Boston College, Colorado, Oregon St, Texas A&M, LSU, Vandy, UK, Georgia Tech, Purdue...could all open up with in the next 2-3 seasons...

Flavor of the week, Brohm isn't a guaranteed lock for a good HC.

At one time, Joker and Stoops were the flavor of the week.

False. No other big name schools were considering joker, or even stoops as hc. Joker became ciw to keep him from becoming someone elses oc, which actually would have been better for him. He could have moved on, taken a smaller hc job, and then eventually come back to uk when he was actually ready.

Your thread title is about Brohm and ul. I've been a fan longer, prob had season tickets longer, you don't know what Mitch will do, and I don't post on BB boards. And only probation would set us back to the Joker days with MAC level recruits, massive roster turnover and a career ending call me when we're 2-10.

People who continue to post about going back to the Joker days have incredibly short memories.
