First it is very difficult to give a score in this type of scrimmage. You keep the ball if you fumble or intercepted. You keep it if you go four plays and don't get a first. Salem scored four times and Brookville once, but that's deceiving because first team to first team was probably about even. Salem has offensive line work to do. Defense not bad for this early. Salem played a lot of players. Owen and Ramsey got only a few carries. Tucker looked real good. There was a huge difference in enthusiasm. Brookville was very fired up with lots of emotion. Salem played with very little emotion, they looked like they were just treating it like another practice. This Salem team has a lot of potential but they will have to improve (they almost always do). PS. Salem showed very very little mostly just basic offense and defensive sets

I thought Brookville looked very good; probably the best I've seen them in a few years. They were definitely fired up. Salem, as you note, didn't have a ton of success running the ball on the Bees' first team D. A lot to work on for the Spartans, which is to be expected after only two weeks of practice. I hope and suspect we'll see the Spartans try and get the ball into the hands of Tucker and Wade on a variety of short pass routes.

Anyone know who numbers 7 and 20 are for Salem?

Agree. The mules looked two a day tired but will get better. Qb gladden looked pretty good. Tucker will be hard for anyone to cover. Impressed with Damon and Ramsey and hale on def . Owen made some huge cb stops on long passes. The bees ain't chop liver. Big and the qb can sling it around. I look for the bees heritage Amherst and glass to be a dogfight in the simenole.

Yes lots of player combinations to keep you guessing on who's doing what. Thought Salem looked better as the they got deeper into the scrimmage. They are only a week and a half in so lots of different things can be worked out Maybe the 2nd team break was what they needed. Like to see them keep their composure a bit more. Surprised to see the kickers got to take part somewhat.

I think Salem looked good. Salem did not game plan or study Brookville before this scrimmage. That is why the defense got better as the night went on and the players were able to learn Brookville's offense. As for Salem's offense, I thought Gladden looked good. They have some things to improve, but I see great potential. What do you all think about Salem's double tight formation? Interesting...

It appears you have a the o line and hard running backs to effectively utilize a double tight end set. This will be a tough set to defend as you can force teams into isolation coverage on Tucker. Not sure many teams have a db that can cover him man-man all game long. It will also force the safeties to respect/cover the tight ends; therefore opening running lanes. Smart move by Coach.

Back up qb looked very good. He can run, starter throws well but not mobile
Wade is very athletic and will be a good WR/S. I like Coach Magenbauer's unwritten rule of the QB only playing 1 position. I think this lessens the chances of injury. If anything happens though, there is a good backup option.
