Salem/Dominion semifinal

Salem will have to game plan for Mccants. He plays a lot of backyard football and scrambles around and makes plays. This seemed to bother Salem last night. From what I've seen on video Dominion will have a lot of trouble stopping Salem. Don't think they have played anyone like Salem this year. Will be a great challenge for the Spartans.

Woodgrove is a very solid team. They can pass and pound like Salem. They limited Dominion quite a bit last night and had mCAnt's on his heels. But the kid made plays, kept dominion in the game and Woodgrove made some costly errors.

McCants is the clear difference maker for Dominion and will Continue to be so against the Spartans but I don't see Salem letting a single player beat them. Just too complete a squad And too well Coached. but it should be fun to see the McCant's kid work. GL to both.

OC just out of curiosity, why are you so adamant about that? IDK either way about the west but it seems like they would get a little respect for beating Woodgrove.

There is no one that would not have a problem with Dominion. They have more going for them than just McCants, despite his ability as a game changer. They wouldn't be where they are if that were not so. Salem will have to plan and play well. Man for man, they are not often the best, but they are a great team.

One player should not beat them but if the rest of Dominion steps up, it could be interesting.

I see 35 - 17, Spartans.

I watched dominion play twice this year once being last night. Neither Woodgrove or dominion impressed me period! Salem would beat Woodgrove easily too

People will invent reasons to be jerks regardless. Every year a non-fan comes on and predicts a blowout of some team in the POs and other non-fans (shocker!) take offense on behalf of said team and make it their business to let everyone know how much Salem is hated for things like this (again, stuff said by non-Salem fans).

It's the dumbest circlejerk on the board and way too many of you participate in it.

All do respect Wikki I went to the Dominion Woodgrove game last night and neither impressed me what so ever. Yes dominion had the heart and grit to put up a fight but both teams just looked average to me. Yes Woodgrove probably could of had a bad night as all teams do but this late in the season that's just unacceptable. I'm not a Salem fan but I was pulling for Woodgrove so I could have caught the Salem Woodgrove game up here but it just didn't pan out. Therefor I'm looking forward to a Dinwiddie/Salem and Staunton River/Phoebus state championship games

it breaks my heart that Amherst played so bad against Dominion because I personally believe they would have beat Woodgrove. You can't have 5 turnovers in a playoff game and expect to win. Amherst is much better than that

I was expecting Amherst at Salem when the brackets came out. Would have been an awesome crowd.

Congrats to Dominion on their season. They played hard and never quit. I hope their QB is ok. He took a shot to the head on the last drive.

This game went exactly as I expected. I said before the game that Salem reminded me of the Patriots in the way that they weren't going to let one star player beat them, and that if they simply 'contained' him, they would get he win. That's how it turned out...as rarely a great player will beat a great team.

Congrats to Salem, and good luck next week...IMO it will only get tougher against the Generals next week. I will admit that I'm picking the Generals in a tight game...please hold your fire...I simply think they are the slightly better team. It may make you feel better that I also picked LT to win the title game last year...and we all know how that one turned out. Bottom line is next week should be an awesome game as it will pit two great teams against each other...and in all honestly, I won't be surprised at the outcome no matter who wins. The only thing that would really surprise me is if one team didn't bring their A game and the game wasn't close...just can't see that happening.

I don't think anyone's going to light you up for expressing a well-informed opinion. Though it has been known to happen, so be ready to stop, drop, and roll. LOL

It's definitely going to get a lot tougher for Salem next week. Fortunately, all I personally have to do is keep stuffing my face with holiday goodies, so I shouldn't have any problem in my preparation.
