But what about gate???
I honestly don't know if gate is better up here or down there. People up this way may skip seeing Carroll Co because they haven't won a RRD game in 3 years. Competition is more favorable for CC down there, but I don't know anything about attendance for games down that way.

Carroll simply started going to Roanoke instead of Grundy & Richlands - don't see much of diff. there.

I didnt know that Carroll Co played those teams previously. If that is the case then the travel would still be about the same for them. Either way, those are some long hauls for their teams.

This is what I meant by "isolated" and "population island." Carroll Co. has no good choices when it comes to travel. But the VHSL has a few good options in regards to placing them in a district where the Cavaliers could at least be competitive. Something they will never be in the River Ridge, whose playoff-contending members currently take a big ratings scale hit for having to play Carroll Co.

If a Coach removes team from field of play, I believe there's a Fine involved. I considered this once in protest of a bad sotball umpire's "strike zone", but decided against it.
