Highlights from the kids sophomore year. Scary to think he still has one more to go after this year. Also looks like the qb just received an offer from Eastern Kentucky.

That's impressive. Walker has to keep his guys motivated each week. Not easily done
The Martinsburg team reminds me of another team I follow out of SC... Dillon... They are about the same... lots of wins, minimal losses... and a bunch of state titles...

Check out Highland Springs. They have won 4 straight D5 titles and have the 6th longest win streak at 36

They haven't had a tie this year.
Manchester was the C6 champion last year, so no easy ballgame.

These kids just don’t get it. You wouldn’t put anything that vulgar on your resume (I’m speaking about the music ) so why would you put it in your highlight film. Kid is talented none the less..

That's not music. That's trash. Pure and simple.

I am a frequent flyer at Hollywood Casino in Charles Town... And with great interest, I have followed Martinsburg for many years... I was able to make it to the Woodson game in Martinsburg first game of the season...

Complete mismatch to a normally dominant DC area team...

Of course, being a Brookville alumni, I have also followed Salem...

I will make this short and simple.

Over the years, and I mean over the years, these 2 teams are basically identical. Both are solid in all aspects of the game.
Although this year, despite a undefeated record, Salem is not as strong as they usually are. Martinsburg has played top tier teams for more than a few years now. This will be nothing new to them... For Salem, this is kinda a step out from the normal.

Martinsburg will throw the ball all night long. And have numerous targets...

The key to Salem being able to compete in this game, is to play tight EARLY!
Because if Martinsburg gets it going early, they will continue for the rest of the game.

Im going... and have had this game circled all year! Despite my home team Bees playing Heritage...

I say...

Martinsburg 41
Salem 17
My prediction.
There is a large point difference between the Martinsburg and Salem offenses and defenses.
I will give 3 pts. for home field and 4 pts. for playing a tougher schedule.
So i will Say Martinsburg 36 Salem 24

Salems secondary must come up big.
Salems offensive line must have great game.
These two things happen and Martinsburg has a couple of turnovers, this will be a game. Otherwise, not so much

Salem fans... I will be pulling for the Spartans against an out of state foe... I think if you can run the ball consistently you might be able to steal this.

Good luck and give those WV boys a steady dose of the run with some well timed PA's. Every now and again a deep shot on first down just to keep them on edge. A positive turnover margin would hurt either.

Go get em!

Never thought I'd be rooting for Salem, but here I am. Over the past several years I've come to truly respect this program and i now avoid betting against them. I'm sure I'm in the minority in believing Martinsburg hasn't played anyone like Salem recently and this game could be close. No pressure, but represent VA!

We’re both in that minority  I’ll be shocked if Martinsburg beats Salem by more than a score either way.

Martinsburg has a good feed you can access through YouTube, look up WRNR TV. Salem has a feed from one of the football player's dads, but you have to go through Facebook onto his wall to watch it. I like to use YouTube to watch on TV and watch the Facebook feed on my phone. If you want the info for the Facebook feed let me know and I'll send it to you.

Hey Mike - I appreciate the info. Will the live feed just show up on youtube around kickoff?

There are a ton of VA teams that run similar offenses to Martinsburg, and runs them as well, or better. Salem has played plenty of them.
As well or better? Yea, not hardly... Martinsburg looked like a machine tonight... And they didnt even press the gas...

They looked very good tonight as they have all season. I would say they tried their best. They took this game very serious. They definitely pressed on the gas

This years Salem team is not 2014, 15, 16, or 17.
They don't have the size or speed of those teams. They have been winning close games against average to good teams. They may go 9 and 1 but that will be because of their system and tradition. They just don't have the athletes to go far in the playoffs.
Martinsburg is really good. Could they win Virginia 4a? They obviously would be one of the favorites this year but not automatic. I think Salem 2014, 15, 16, and 17 all would have been capable of beating this year's Martinsburg team. Salem rushed for over 200 yards last night with two offensive lineman out. Martinsburg is really good but elite Virginia teams could beat them. Salem is not elite this year.

I guess you are shocked then.
I watched some of the live stream on YouTube last night and Martinsburg was legit.. Could they beat any team in VA?? We’ll never know, we have some really good team in Richmond/757/NoVA. We (GW fans) get a bad rep cause we “hate Salem” & make jokes that they “cheat” which is definitely not the case. If anything, we wise we had the Salem mentality in our program. I initially picked them to win the Region thus year and they still could..
