Look at Sha. Wait until 18-20 seconds left. Run wasteful east west do nothing motion up top. Rush shot as shot clock expires.

I said that too. They treated this game like a practice. Running their full offensive sets with no go to look. Gotta figure it out before the season starts

They played tight last night after the early lead.. Probably read their press clippings from game 1.

The offense ran slightly better when Clark was on the court, but was a disaster when he sat. Someone has to step up when Clark sits.

Plus the 5 man mass substitution is a terrible idea. Mix and match if you want to play more guys. Do not preplan what you are going to do regardless of the game situation.

It looks like last year without Clark with the wasted movement and pedestrian passing along the perimeter. But the players are better so likely won't be as bad as you have a chance of creating more off the dribble (not saying much). Guys like Simpkins, Staton-McCray, and even Williams are upgrades.

But the bottom line last night is we couldn't hit FT's (12/24) or 3PTers (6/21). It was very sloppy game. We got outscored 36-18 from 3 (12/23 vs. 6/21). You're not going to win a lot with that kind of deficit from the arc in this day and age.

Wagner was only 5/12 from the FT line too.

Thankfully we were +8 turnovers and +6 on the boards.

That box score is wrong. Jerry posted today that it was just fixed and Fisher had 21 & 6

Same coach so yea same offense. Same defense too. They press more so that's different. Got lit up last year by teams shooting 3's. So maybe just maybe the problems last year were not the players? Too soon to tell but the next 5 or 6 games will show one way or another where the issues and strengths of this team are.

Never been a fan of Kevin or Sha's offenses. I always felt as if passing was a quality Seton Hall has never had as long as I've been a fan. Dribble handoffs that get nowhere and end in either getting fouled or rushed shots at the end of the shot clock to me is just not quality basketball. Certainly not fun basketball to watch. Always felt as if it's a crutch or substitute for not being able to run an actual offense.

They had some good moments. The clark kickout to simpkins for the smooth three. This will be available alot this year..The slip by dar for an easy layup
There were some bright spots . Need to look at film and learn..

It’s also a result of 1. Not having shooters the other team respects 2. Having no post presence. Teams will sag off of our guys, clog the lane, and let us go East/West as much as we want without allowing anyone to penetrate.

We recruit players that are more suited to a transition offense. In Sha & Willard's offense you need shooters who can make contested & open shots. Simpkins is the only one so far that has shown that he can knock down an open 3 with any consistency but it's still early.

To date, I'd say that Clark, Simpkins, Fisher & Payne have shown they will get the majority of minutes. Hines, Williams & Stanton-McCray seem to have the athletic ability to compete in the Big East but they have been inconsistent.

All in all, a big improvement from last year but unless things change, we will struggle in conference due to lack of rebounding & our 3 point shooting.

We have several players who can go get a bucket, which is several more then we had last year. The offense is going to be improved because of that. But anyone expecting a fast-paced, free flowing offense with good spacing and ball movement is kidding themselves. That’s never been Shaheen.

Grind it out on D. Grind it out on O. Hope your guards can create off the dribble. Not pretty to watch, but it can work with the right personnel.
