Not much to say here obviously....... I think Lakewood fires away on Lejeune this Friday. In the jamboree Hobbton looked like a top team vs Lejeune and we saw what happened week 1 with Hobbton.

Hobbton @ Triton
Triton looked pretty solid in the jamboree vs Midway. They fly around on defense and have some tough kids on offense along with plenty of speed. Yes Triton got blown out week 1 vs Willow Spring but were talking about a 6A Triton vs 2A Hobbton. No disrespect to Hobbton but they don't have the personnel to make this competitive.

Union @ Bear Grass Charter
I have to say I am extremely impressed with the spartans rebuild they have gotten kids to buy in and have pride. For a team that did not have a varsity team a few years ago they have solid numbers and good athletes. They have yet to play week ones game vs spring creek but I expect them to beat spring creek tonight. I believe this weeks game will be a fun game to watch and possibly back and forth.

Midway @ Clinton
This should be the game to watch in the county this week. Home opener for Clinton and after losing to Midway last year, the players and fans should be very motivated for this one over at Clinton. Midway looked very good week one vs Hobbton and Clinton looked good against Lakewood even though they had to run wildcat and heavy packages since the QB is out. I have heard Clintons #15 could possibly be out this week? Would really hurt Clinton's chances because he is probably the best player in the county. Also does Clinton's QB1 Miles play this week? Clintons offense is completely different when he is on the field. Midway has a tough and physical team who take pride in flying to the ball and playing till the whistle. If Clinton has QB1 I expect them to compete very well.
If anyone has information on Clintons QB1 and the LB #15's status for the game let me know.

Im gonna say 2-2 on those predictions.

Union looked like an actual football team against spring creek, first time in years. Bear grass isnt anything special. Im gonna go with Union taking the W coming off of a hot start. Union 28-14

Next is the big one. Midway vs. Clinton. Lakewood looked to be the better team last friday, definitely should have won but made more mistakes than they could afford. Take away those self inflicted wounds clinton might have lost by 2 scores. Yes midway played a lesser opponent in Hobbton but had all the intangibles as far as flying around on defense, explosive plays as well as walking the field on offense. Coming off of their first win ever last year vs Clinton I think they make it 2-0 in two seasons. Give me midway 24-17.

Im sure he is good, ive seen some good plays on his film. However, that was JV games. This is at the varsity level, albeit a smaller school and less competitive area but that OL has not impressed anyone up to this point. I heard they were rotating O Linemen vs Lakewood?? If they are lacking up front midway will be a challenge. Great trench play up to this point on both sides by midway. along with having a very youthful receiving room at clinton, however they will probably have success against midways DBs. that corner room seems to lack in multiple departments. At the end of the day the game is won an lost up front. Give me midway.
