Sam, re the Davis twins: Do not underestimate the long-term value of the twins to this team. They have the raw ability to make you forget departing Huskers pretty quickly.

No matter what, you can't replace 6'3" 330-ish pounds with 24 starts, 36-ish games played, and another year of eligibility. I'm not a fan of VV's worth ethic and some other things that took place in the last 13 months but he is a loss, from a pure size and experience standpoint.

We're down to 5 DT's, maybe 6 if Kevin Williams returns. Of the 5, only 2 have experience.

Big fan of Maurice, still pissed he didn't redshirt in 2013, oh well.

Not breaking Sam's heart to see him go.

Jay Foreman said the same thing about McMullen, that his best position is DT. Don't disagree with that, it's just a question of how badly they need warm bodies at DE.

No doubt HTO, replacing VV and Collins will not be kind to our run D. Could slide McMullen inside but then we are thin at DE. It may be easier to get away with playing younger athletic guys at end however. Anyone on the radar outside of Freedom and Dzuris? Sam mentioned Sedrick King.

I thought I read they really like Alex Davis at DE. If Neal can get healthy he could help out.

Ivy is an important recruit---adding him to Ross and Freedom plus the two Frosh is important. King HAS to step up as well.

I have read that some believe Newell is maxxed out physically. Is he going to be a DT or DE long term or a tweener?

This^^^^^^^^^. Of course that was the season after our stellar appearance in the BIG Championship Game.

McMullen at DT especially on pass downs is one way to add some depth. We need to find help at DE....badly.
